  1. Another of my favorites, built about 10 years ago. I especially love the red wine colored interior.
  2. I had a real 850R back in the day so I had to build this. Again, another old build from about 10 years ago. But new here. My wife actually now drives a 2004 V70R too
  3. This is another old build which has a few pieces missing but thought it would be worth posting. This was my first attempt at weathering a vehicle.
  4. I built this Revell Datsun 720 truck a few years ago but just joined the forum. My real project is this 1/8th scale Pocher F40 street competizione I have been working on for the last year but thought I should add some photos of previous builds here. I have owned two of these real trucks and have a soft spot in my heart for them.
  5. Loving this. Will be closely following along. My dad has 5 immaculate 240z's. Two with less than 40k original miles. One of my good friends also has a single turbo RB powered 260z. Looking forward to the progress. I bought two Tamiya 1/12 kits back in the day. The G nose and safari car, with the plan to make a cool custom. But I ended up selling the kits. My dad's collection and my good friends RB car.
  6. Thanks!! And don't worry, I didn't take it as any type of criticism. I just wanted to add what I paid in case anyone else comes across one and wants to know an estimate of what to expect.
  7. Thanks, everyone! I paid $1250 US for this kit. Which was a bargain compared to the last 3 I didn't buy. I see them on eBay about 2-3 times a year. They usually sell for closer to $2k. I was very nervous while negotiating that someone else would buy it now for the $1500 asking price. I have probably spent a total of $2500 on everything over my 2 year accumulation phase (which I typically would consider some insane for spending on a model) but this is the one kit I have wanted to build for the longest time. No other car excites me more than the F40. I hope to buy a real one when I retire some day! I build 1:1 cars as my main hobby. Have had a few cars featured in magazines and online publications. Was even voted #10 of the top 10 car builds of 2013. #1 was a Ferrari F40 LM restoration so I was in good company!! http://www.build-threads.com/general-car-stuff/top-10-builds-of-2013/
  8. Thanks for the update. I was just wondering what the heck was going on.
  9. I would pay up to $1k for a high quality 1/8th scale LaFerrari
  10. I will keep it in mind and might try it but I am not sure it's worth the effort at this point. I am not trying to go for 100% accuracy. I just want to have something that is fun to build and look at. All the Autograph builds I see are using the brass bolts.
  11. Thanks, everyone!! It's been quite the learning process. I actually don't mind the brass bolts. Gives some nice contrast and the bolts from most of the projects I have worked on with real cars pre-2000's are often cad plated. There is a nice NSX for sale on bringatrailer and all of it's suspension bolts are cad plated which made me think of it. The Datsun 510 I restored and the 240Z's my dad have restored have also all had cad bolts.
  12. Going for a white version of this car
  13. Outstanding work!!! As a huge LS fan, I am very impressed with the twin turbo Camaro. I have an LSx 427 powered 99 BMW E39 5 series station wagon
  14. I remember reading about this a long time ago. Glad you are still at it. Can't wait to see more progress. My dad's actual Z collection for inspiration
  15. Love this!! Well done!
  16. Hello, everyone. I am new to this forum. 36 years old and have been building models since I can remember. I used to build one as a kid up to probably age 16. The I got back into it a little in my 20's and then again recently with the purchase of a Pocher F40, my all time dream. I purchased a built kit for about $350 and lucked out in that no glue was used. I bought some not so ideal transkits here and there. I found a set of the OZ Competitizione wheels from overseas and a few months ago, I finally scored my dream. A complete Autograph speed line transkit. I had never soldered before or done that much custom fab. But have been a fast learner and jumped right in. I intend to create a street version of the Competitizione in white.
