  2. Mostly finished with all the vents now. Such tedious work. The hardest part is trying to keep the openings gapped correctly. Few body nicks will need some filler but nothing major.
  3. Rough cut all the final body vents. Not perfect but this is my first time doing anything like this. First time soldering etc. I truly hope I can finish this car but am skeptical with all the work ahead.
  4. Just a minor update. Haven't had much time for it lately. Started cutting and filing/sanding the vents from the rear bottom panel of the car. I never intended on doing this because of how hard it will be to do the carbon decals but what the hell... All the vents are still rough and will need fine sanding and even a touch of filler for areas where I nicked the body with the dremel. Since I found an LM hood vent insert, I can start cutting the extra hood I got. Will have to pick up a 3rd hood for a stock version as well since I already cut the first which doesn't match the pre-made insert.
  5. Can't see photos at work but looking forward to seeing them at home. I know how that goes with the 1:1 project. I just finished getting my car back together and posted a quick video online that went viral and has gotten something stupid like 3.5million views.
  6. Any updates? This is probably my favorite model build ever and I anxiously await updates. I would love to see a real version of this!
  7. Unfortunately, no. I have been considering selling everything again. I just never can find the time. And I just finished putting my 1:1 project back together.
  8. The paint on these Pochers is super durable. Seems more like powder coat. The nose is the most durable of all the parts too. I cannot for the life of me, strip around the grill openings. I have sprayed it at least 5 times.
  9. Epic project!! I have admired that original rendering and didn't know someone built a full scale version. I just knew it was chosen in a contest to be featured in either the new Forza or Gran Turismo. I am following your roadster build on IG. Can't wait to see more progress.
  10. Was looking at this photo and it reminded me of the suggestions to make all the bolts silver. They look cad plated to me
  11. Correct. I wasn't happy with the finish from the paint I used on the main body so I stripped it all down again. Removing etching primer is a pain in the butt btw!!! I had originally used auto paint in a spray can with U-pol auto rattle can clear coat but it's not that great. I will thin down real automotive PPG DBC (base and clear) and shoot it with my Devilbiss gun. I have done automotive paint for myself for 12-13 years and have become quite good. But thought it was a little overkill at first.
  12. I decided to strip the main body again. I want to use real automotive paint for this project. The other stuff wasn't that durable. I believe I have used 4-5 cans of aircraft stripper on this. Most people have the worst time removing the finish. Not sure what it is but it's serious stuff. I had to do each piece in stages often doing 2-3 coats and leaving it in sunlight for a few hours. The inner surfaces won't ever be seen and I will do a final sand of the body after a skim coat with surface body filler. Added 2 shots with an old 1/24 build of mine to show the scale.
  13. Love the texture on the valve covers!
  14. Can't see the images at work but look forward to seeing them at home. I had Peter Brock call my dad to wish him a happy birthday last year. My dad is a Z nut and has 5 immaculate examples (2 with under 40k miles). He bought his first in 71 after he saw Jon Morton race the BRE car at Road Atlanta. He got to have breakfast with Jon at Z con a few years ago.
  15. I would venture to guess the whole thing when done with the transkit, will be about 20 lbs. Maybe more though. It's very heavy. Started on the rear grill. The stock one is plastic and solid with no holes in the grill material. So far, I soldered the outer surround and the right side lens rings/fasteners. It's super rigid with all the pieces soldered together. It will really look good when I prime and paint it black.
  16. This is the second most amazing model I have seen next to the working scale Ferrari 312 built about 15 years ago. Outstanding work!! I would love to see you build a Ferrari F40!
  17. Finally finished cutting out and filing all the vents in the rear panel in addition to the first full mock up of the rear spoiler. Also tried fitting the hub/knockoff.
  18. Great work! Wheels look like Rotiforms.
