  1. Thanks so much. I just had to build it once again. Mike
  2. I finally finished this kit and has been nearly 40 years since I built it the first time and the kit is no easier today that back then. The fit of most parts is very bad and takes a lot of fitting and guesswork but in the end it is a pretty good looking model of a classic show car. Thanks , Mike
  3. SWEET. Mike
  4. I have not , but I too , was thinking of buying one sometime. Mike
  5. After seeing this , if I build it , maybe no detail and build all body fuse together first. I don't know if that would help or work. Mike
  6. I hear you. Don't know if I will ever build mine as well, but we could !!
  7. I am impressed. It is hard to re-start a kit , but you have done a masterful job on a complicated build. I always loved the look of the J Car but the MK4 is my favorite. Thanks for sharing this. Mike
  8. Thanks so much Greg, Mike
  9. The actual kit was fine but with all the extra engine and detail options and no instructions , it was a challenge. Thanks , Mike
  10. Thanks very much Echo. It was fun to get completed but not as easy a one would think. It was like taking a single kit and throwing in 3 or for other kits parts and then no instructions on what parts belonged to what kit. Here is a little more about it. Thanks , Mike
  11. Thanks Gary and this is how , I too , remember them. Mike
  12. I didn't want to clog up the paint job with decals. Thanks , Mike
  13. I hear you. That was what I ran into and ACME does not respond to emails. I have a gross of leftover parts and will likely try to sell on EBAY. Thanks , Mike
  14. It was much more difficult than I had planned on. Thanks , Mike
  15. Thanks so much Gary. It was a bear as I had no instructions and no pictures plus the kit had many other parts and all the parts for blown Hemi. So had to figure it all out by downloaded pictures from the net. Thanks , Mike
  16. Finally finished this Model.
  17. That is way cool and here is a image of the car as it appeared in the actual race. Mike
  18. Thanks so much Gramps. Mike
  19. Thanks so much. It is the first all metal kit have have built and totally enjoyed it. Mike
  20. I just finished this about two weeks ago and really liked the quality of the metal kit. Used Tamiya paints and Indycals decals and all came together well. Mike
  21. I found this guy on the bay and couldn't pass it up. I love the Fiats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qLaMnUIdYI&t=6s Thanks for taking a look and let me know if you have any tips on this guy. Thanks , Mike
  22. Thanks for the tip. I will see what I need to do when I get there. Thanks , Mike
  23. Made some more progress on the engine and got the wheels chrome stripped off and painted black as well as the tires sanded. Also several misc. parts painted. Thanks , Mike
  24. Well , I have gotten this far and it has not been easy. A lot of flash on most parts and instruction flaws on the A arm brackets, but that said , I am having fun and a great break from the model trains. Mike
