1970 GTO Decals. Who got em?
Ben269 replied to Dragline's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Here is the set I got from Keith Marks. He offers 4 different colors of stripes. The top decals are for the 1968 Firebird, he just put them on the same sheet. -
Thanks, that shows what I was looking for.

Interior is started. Does anyone know what the exhaust on a 6 cyl looks like? Are they dual tips or single? I can't find any pictures of the underside of these cars. Are the chassis black? Overspray? I can't believe how few pics I could find.

Snake, this 6 cyl builds up pretty nice, but needed to be sanded flat to fit together nicely. Do some test fitting before you paint.

That engine is looking great! I don't think i have ever seen that Revell kit. How does it compare size wise to your AMT?

2018 Le Mans 24 hours build (Porsche 962C)

This looks awesome, I love the weathering, especially around the exhaust openings. Very realistic. -

I have been in a Pontiac mood lately, and picked up a few kits. I have had the 70 GTO for a few years, bought it built up for $5. I picked up a Hurst Olds for the chassis, tires, auto shifter, and spoiler, but the spoiler doesn't actually look like one for a Judge, so I will probably try and scratch build one that looks right. I picked up the 68 Firebird for the engine, and have a build plan for that car as well.

This looks very nice.

Thanks for all the nice compliments, I have used a lot of the tips shared on this website.

Thats a really cool idea, and even better execution!

I ordered the wheels and tires from Historic Racing Miniatures.

If I were to do it again, I would cut the orange stripes off and paint the black on. The decal split in the back on the truck, and I couldn't get it to line up straight. Overall, though, I like the way it looks.

I love that green one.

Thanks for the tips. I will strip it down and start over. I think the gray primer I used was too dark, so this will address both these issues.

I started on this Torino. I have had it for a year or two, and couldn't decide on a color. Its a cool kit because it comes with four different stripe colors. I saw a yellow one with the yellow and brown stripe, and thought that was a winner. I bought an airbrush and have used it twice now. I had some issues on this, however. If you look close at the photos, you can see that the paint seemed to run away from the edges. Any Idea why that happened? I used Testors enamel thinned with mineral spirits. Any tips are appreciated. Not sure if I am going to sand it and respray, or strip it all the way down and start over.

Great looking build, I am starting to replicate our 1:1 68 convertible. Are those the seats that came in the kit? What kit did that auto shifter come from from?
-
this build idea is really cool. I like the idea for the seats. I have a 1:1 car I'm trying to replicate in scale, and can't find the right seats. this looks like the way to go. are you cutting out the middle of the stock seat, or just laying the horizontal striped part on top?
