  1. Well, different than just another 4x4 - CCarroll
  2. Very cool. I hope you don't build it as a 4x4, just so that you end up with something different from the rest. That said, it would make the most awesome rock-climber ever! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
  3. Thanks, all. Yeah, Ace, I'm thinking the same thing. Besides, as a former driver of an old slant six-powered car, I want that little engine, too; that means I have to have the old Lindberg kit anyways
  4. Does anyone know if the 1964 Dodge Color Me Gone model touted to be coming out in 2017 from AMT is a new molding, or just a re-issuing of the Lindberg kit of the same name?
  5. The ones with the raised chrome details look amazing. Great tip!
  6. On another website, it was suggested that Steve Kohler and Star Models got the remainders of R & R Resin's stock and is slowly selling it off. It was said that once something is gone, that's that, there will be no more. Dunno if that is so, but that is the rumor.
  7. Welcome to modeling cars! I hope you find what you are looking for, and have a fun time doing it!
  8. I do want to warn that, regarding their website, and Steve's reply to my questions, that it looks like the website, and the related sites for Resin Realm and Star Models, actually show images of a lot more models than they actually have on hand. Make sure to send them an email asking about the availability of any models that you may be interested in. But, that said, if they have it on hand, you couldn't ask for better service!
  9. Very nicely done. Beautiful job on the Ford, it really stands out.
  10. I must reach out and praise a resin-caster today. I've been looking at R & R Resin's website for a couple of weeks now, and finally sent an email to them asking about the availability and prices of some of their kits. Steve Kohler responded quickly enough with the info I asked for, and I was quite pleased. This last Sunday, I ordered a 1965 Plymouth B-Body 4 door wagon kit from them. Steve emailed me right back, saying that he would ship the model on Monday. Today, Wednesday, I received the kit in the mail, safe and sound. It looks great! I am astounded at the rapidity of Steve's response, thrilled with the delivery, and excited to have the kit. I cannot say enough good things about R & R Resin and Steve Kohler. If you ever get the opportunity to do business with them, I do not think you will be disappointed!
  11. Sweet Mopars there
  12. Lovely!
  13. John Goschke - Thanks for the heads-up on the 58 Plymouth's crappy proportions problems. I read several reviews and not a one warned me of that! In fact, the ones I read made the kit sound so good, I bought one yesterday evening. Man, is it going to take some major repairs and scratch-building to fix those problems. I'm glad I'm not going to go and build it right away. The model companies should be ashamed of themselves for releasing such dogs!Sorry all for the bold type; dunno why the forum did that, but I'm not yelling or anything, honest!
  14. Hello, neighbor! Nice to meet you. Good luck with your modeling. Hope you find an exciting project soon.
  15. Hi there. Well, the plan is to make metalized masters. I want to spend my time making the master models myself out of resin and plastic, make a final silicon mold, then make a metallic final master. I'll try to do that by making one version of the model out of a resin impregnated with metal dust, such as brass. Then I can make however many models I want with the silicon mold, and when it wears out I can use the metal master to make a new mold. I enjoy the building phase more than anything else, and I'm not interested in making models for competition. So I think this way, I can make models of cars that I like (police cars, for example), and not have to worry about what to do when the mold wears out. I'm not planning to do this as a business because I just want to do it as a hobby. However, if someone wanted a copy of a model I make, I imagine some trading could be arranged.
  16. MCW also offers a 66 Dodge 2dr post sedan. I intend to use those to create 1966 and 1967 Police Cars. Could you not use the parts (mainly front and rear ends) with the Revell kits to kitbash the cars you want?
  17. Hello to all. I am returning to the hobby after being away from it for decades. My, how things have changed! I will be trying to make police car blanks. My goal is to make reasonably accurate, but not super-detailed, police car bodies from resin, and therefore to learn how to become a resin-caster. I am not doing this as a business, to become a resin-casting company. Just as a hobby. I am so glad I found this website, it is very cool. Thanks for letting me join!
