  1. Yes Jean Phillipe the proper wheel covers are currently being made via 3 D printing, they will be fabulous. I do need to add a bit more taper to the side molding. The major conundrum I have on this kit is the hood. The shape of the Revell kit hood is all wrong, way too squared off. I would like to offer a corrected hood with the kit but it would be too thin to cast in resin. The other option would be to cast it in place, that would require removing the wheelhouses and fire wall. A lot of builders must have an opening hood. I personally would rather have an accurate shaped hood then an engine but that's just me. Actually, the whole body was too squared off. The Eldorado trim hid a lot of that. I gave the rocker panels more of an undercut, and rounded off the upper horizontal body line running from the front fender tops to the upper rear bumper ends. The center sides of the body on the Revell kit were dead flat. I added material there to continue the rounded look from top to bottom.
  2. Bill it comes with the open and closed rag top inserts and a hole in the roof. A very nice resin kit as All of his products are. He also does an earlier split window model. This builds with the Tamyia 66 Beetle as a donor.
  3. This was built using the Best Model products resin trans kit.
  4. Thank you all for the kind words. To answer the question on the roof, it's a slightly modified 63 Olds unit. My parents bought a new Bronze 63 Dynamic 88 4 dr. ht. Always overheated. Left us stranded more than a few times. Traded for a new 67 Delta 88 2 dr. ht in silver/ silver with a black vinyl top. was a good car but the GM laquer paint was dead and flat before the car was a year old and it was a car accident magnet! Always getting hit. Traded it off in 72 on a new LTD, saw it a short time later with the back end bashed waaaay in. Some cars have bad luck I guess.
  5. This one was built for a friend as a replica of one his dad had bought new. It started out as a convertible resin kit. Not sure who did the kit 'cause it's the only one I have come across.
  6. Also did the side moldings from evergreen stock.
  7. This started as a Modelhaus 57 Plymouth wagon. Grafted an AMT 58 front clip and suspension. Made a rear facing third seat, re did the seat patterns, cobbled up a wide block 318 by taking molds from a Franklin Mint 58 Plymouth heads and valve covers. Used the AMT Plymouth manifold and block.
  8. Been posting some of my builds the last few days without issue. Been trying to post another and I get 404 error notice every time. Any ideas?
  9. Thank you all very much! Wayne Dodge made Texans from 1956 through the 1958 Model year. I wonder if any La Femme Texans were built in 56? Thanks Guy, At one point, I was putting out roughly 125 builds a year. I'm currently doing about 45- 50.
  10. thanks all!
  11. Awe shucks guys thanks!!
  12. Richard, I think the name of the 54 Sun Valley maker is Big Sky resins.
  13. This was built using the Modelhaus Coronet 2 dr. sedan to start with. Obvious door line and roof changes and sculpted a "Texan" script. made a mold from that so I could make duplicates.
  14. You guys asked for more pics so here you go! This was built from the new Ebbro? kit. The finest model kit I have ever built hands down.
  15. Thank you very much. The Hubcaps were from 54 Merc Sun Valley resin kit from a different caster. His name escapes me at the moment.
  16. Did this one for a friend last year. Started with a Jimmy Flintstone 53 Ford squire body, grafted a R&R 54 Merc front clip, did some changing on the wood trim and taillights, scratch built an interior. It's Yosemite Yellow.
  17. Thanks! To respond on the vinyl tops, I believe these stared as original issue kit that had the vinyl tops. I use .010X .020 evergreen for the seams and usually for the surround moldings, sand them a bit so they are not so pronounced, prime sand again to fix the imperfections, then dust several dry coats of semi gloss black.
  18. all lines rescribed, new drip rails over the doors and all new side moldings were made. new windshield and rear window moldings (countersunk, that was fun) were made. The sad thing is, is that the basic shape of the body was excellent, with more time spent on the master it could have been an awesome kit. It came from Air Trax of Finland.
  19. Thank you for the positive comments. I will post more builds soon. Been a while since the build so I have probably forgotten some things. The hood was waay to big, had to be shortened and narrowed. The cowl was a mess. the upper portion of the doors were sunk way in. Beyond the warm water straitening method. Where the lower "rocker panel" area met the fenders was very messy. Had to rework the area from below the C pillars along the top of the rear fender all the way to the bumper. the roof was waay to thick. lots of grinding.
  20. Thanks all for the kind remarks. The photo etch Saratoga scripts are from the 57 Chrysler 300 Model Car Garage photo etch set. It also has New Yorker and Windsor scripts.
  21. Here's Lincoln Zephyr. Built from a resin kit. Over 40 hours in body corrections alone but It came out ok.
  22. Thanks! yes door edge guards are present. Just a very fine line of Bare Metal Foil.
  23. Thanks all! Sorry Steve did this a while back before I started doing the resin thing. Made one other in Black/ Pink I will try to find the pics of.
  24. This was made from an JoHan repop 4 dr promo. the interior was made by modifying a 57 300 unit.
