Tim this is truly amazing work! I honestly think there isn’t enough adjectives to express the excitement on what you are creating.
Thank you for the link on the Porsche restoration, great stuff. It will help immensely.

So... After making a major mess of the rear engine cage, I finally got back on track. I have most of it complete. I just need to verify what color I need to paint it. I have photos of the restored car, and it’s black. I have wondered if the actual color was bare aluminum. If anyone knows that would be very helpful.
Thank you for looking

Outstanding as always Tim, I will admit super jealous of your abilities doing machining. I can see why you need to think out every process to get your end results. Can’t wait for more progress sir!
I also wish I lived more closer to see this in person. It would be a real treat.

Very cool subject, your off to a great start! If I remember they are very popular in the New York and eastern part of the country.

That would be great Tim, I could use all the help I can get?
I am very interested in what color the inside of the bonnet and cockpit is. I am leaning towards off white or a very light grey.

Love the subject you've chosen Chris. Always had a fondness for that particular car. The 1:1 pic you shared is one I've never seen and it looks great..........you couldn't go wrong if you match that IMO. Maybe Gravity colors has some shades that could get you close? I'll be sure to check in on your progress. cheers, tim
I did some poking around, and yes gravity colors does carry that shade of purple!!

I've been putzin around with car building for quite some time, and for some odd reason, thought I'd developed my skills somewhat.....then I see something like this!! Goodness gracious, what a true work of art ?
Here recently I've discovered the true quality kit makers and the vast array of high definition aftermarket supplies and parts and it has changed my perspective on car crafting! My current project is a Tamiya Lotus 79 1/20 scale that I'm almost ready to start preparing and paint on the body panels, but after seeing this, I almost wanna just start over!! Will I? Of course not, but I will say that this build is truly an inspiration to say the least.
Absolutely stunning work, and looking forward to your next undertaking!
Thank you for your kind words! I do appreciate it.

Outstanding work on this - really impressive!
For the shiny section of the front wing, how about some BMF (assuming you didn’t complete that already)?
I have not done the wings yet. And I have never attempted foil. I am curious if it can handle decals on that type of surface?

That's one wild paint scheme. Good luck with your project. I would like one of the Cobra's in 1/12 scale but besides the cost factor I have my doubts I could build the thing.
Thank you for the encouragement!
Im sure if you could find a way to get one, I am sure you could do a great job on it.

I started by dry fitting the engine cylinders, and making sure everything lined up, I am learning that you have to think 5 steps ahead to make sure everything lines up, there is quite a bit of drilling and filing that needs to be done to make sure everything goes together well. What I have is about 3 1/2 hours of work and not even close to getting paint on it.

This is my first attempt at a Model Factory Hiro kit. It is in 1/12 scale.
I have chosen to build the Porsche 917 chassis no# 43 hippie. It took second at Le Mans in 1970. This is the long tail version, which was clocked at over 250 mph. During the same race a 917k finished 1st to give Porsche its first ever over all win. I am sure most of you Porsche nuts are more familiar with the 917 in gulf colors. But after doing a little research this cars paint work shares a special place in racing history.
I am hoping I can do this car justice.Chris
