  1. Hey, Bill...your subtext line still says updated Aug 23rd...that may be why you're not getting more comments... Anyway, it looks like you're continuing to make good progress!! Later,
  2. Thanks, Wayne!! Yeah...I watched the movie again today! It might be done by then...either way, I'll bring it for you to see. Later,
  3. Too cool, Brian!! I remember Sunnyvale Dodge back in the 70s had about 20 of these things, each with a different paint job, sitting on the lot. They were too cool!! The problem with them was if they got scratched or hit...the insurance companies would only pay to respray two of the body colors. No one could afford to get them fixed right... Later,
  4. Another GREAT build, Marcos!! Wow, that color is BRIGHT!! Thanks for sharing,
  5. Thanks, Charlie! Contrary to popular belief, I can build a model in less than a year!! The interior is done, the final coat of clear has been sprayed...once the clear cures I'll give it a quick shoe-shine polish, a bit of BMF and final assembly... That's all for today...I need to let the clear cure for a day or so before I do anything more to this one...
  6. Cool by me!! As far as I'm concerned...everyone can join in!! After watching the special effects disc that came with the movie, I decided to paint it Testors Dark Bronze Metallic. And...quicker than a used car saleman, I changed the interior color from gray to tan More to come later...I'm busy watching the movie...
  7. BIG BADA BOOM!! Here's a couple of updated pics of the engine bay with some of the initial plumbing...the rest of the plumbing will have to wait until after the body gets painted. Later,
  8. While waiting for the paint to cure on the Wagon Rod, I decided to do a 5th Element "what if" of Korben Dallas' own car...the one he might have driven to the spaceport after his taxi got shot to bits... The basic body is the AMT '53 Stude with a few minor body modifications, mostly removal of the wheels and adoption of a hover craft floor pan, split right at the seam for the door sills. In converted the interior to a two seater, I used the dash, the center console, the seats and parts of the door panels from some C6 Vette parts that I bought in a bag. Since it's now a 2 seater, I changed the rear door line to slant up towards the rear pillar. The "lump" on the trunk for the license plate looked kind of 5th Elementism... The turbine-like engine for the hover system is a piece of 1/2" diameter tubing with various bits added on that will be plumbed later. The chassis pan was made from 0.04" sheet styrene Additional bits and pieces for the hover system will get BMF, additional wiring and detailing after the paint dries a bit more. The body is ready to paint, but I haven't decided on a color yet. The chassis pan was sprayed with Testors Gunmetal metalizer from a rattle can, then burnished unidirectionally with a scuff pad. Well, that's it for now...
  9. Nice job!! Keep up the GREAT model building!! Thanks for sharing,
  10. Yep...that's loud!! It definately screams "I want a ticket!!" Later,
  11. Please offer my condolences to the family and friends of the fallen officer.
  12. Looking good, Bill!! Looking forward to seeing you in Stockton on Oct 17th!! Later,
  13. Thanks, guys! Yeah...the headlight design from the kit really kills the look of the model. Kind of like two limp...well, you know... I would have gone with the Banshee wheels, but I don't have a spare kit to rob parts from, but I have a few spare Prowler kits... I wonder how much it would cost AMT to fix just the headlights and how many of these things they'd then sell...
  14. Very cool mods, Charles!! I really like the way this one came out!! Thanks for sharing,
  15. Very nice work, John!! I look forward to seeing it at the NNL West next year!! Thanks for sharing,
  16. Yeah...those show rods are a lot of fun to build!! Thanks for sharing,
  17. Yeah...I know...but I can dream, can't I? The 11th is still good for me. I'll confirm with Clay. What's the hourly union rate for an elf? Later,
  18. Cool!! What's the model car selection like in Turkey, or do you buy from eBay?
  19. Very nice build, Keke!! Is this the Monogram 1:24th scale kit? Thanks for sharing,
  20. Very nice!! It's hard to beat the look of a well built red Ferrari!! Thanks for sharing,
  21. Thanks, guys! This was supposed to be a "box build" with a minor correction to the headlights. Somehow it got away from me and quickly turned into multiple modifications... Later,
  22. Very nice little gasser!! How about a shot of the engine and chassis? Thanks,
