  1. I'll be there, but I won't know until the night before what I'll be taking...
  2. Thanks, George!! Thanks, Dave!! Yeah...I like the way the trailer is coming out. Here's a few pics of it with the bodywork finished and a basecoat of green... Please excuse the white edges around the logo. This one was printed on photo paper and white-glued in place for the mockup pics. A special thanks to my friend Bernard, (GBK1), for designing the Raptor logo and for your continued help and inspiration. You're the man!! I still need to paint the fenders green and use a mile of BMF on the boards. Here's a shot of the inside of the cowling. A test picture of the trailer wouldn't be complete without the Raptor sitting proudly onboard! Here you can see the right front tire that I've already narrowed. I still need to narrow the other three for the trailer and the two front ones for the truck. From here you can see where the taillights for the trailer will go. (Yes, I'll make another set to match the Raptor). Here's a look at the set from a bit higher up. And here's a closeup of the logo that Bernard designed for me. Thanks for all of your comments and inspiration to get this set finished!! Later,

    Grumpy Nova

Cool hotrod, Kenny!! That would look really good sitting next to my Grumpy's '68 Camaro!! Thanks for sharing,
  4. Brendan, You're a building machine!! I hope to see you again in March at the NNL West!! Later,
  5. Thanks, Neal!! Glad the info on the wire was helpful!! Yes, send me a picture of the scoop and I'll see what I can do to help identify it. Thanks, Dennis! Yeah, the extra fin on the back of the truck was just too much. Slanting the top of the bed forward gave the back of the truck the look I was after when I was messing around with the extra fin. You're 100% right on the idea behind the design on the trailer. It's meant to be used for local runs, (thus the open design), yet still keep the rocks, bugs and goo off of the car while in transport. The truck is getting the supercharged 5.4L V8 from the Revell '99 Ford Lightning kit. That's the same kit that gave up the front frame clip and front suspension. Later,
  6. You just gotta love that Testors lacquer!! That is really looking GREAT!! Thanks for sharing,
  7. Thanks, Bob!! I hope that you don't mind, but I want to make mine look EXACTLY like yours!! That is just EXCELLENT!! Later,
  8. NO!!! Don't stop posting until you get another camera!! We'll deal with it!! We just weren't sure why you were taking pics of your stuff from the neighbors yard. Later,
  9. I understand... What camera do you have (brand and model number)? A lot of guys on the forum can help you with the settings if they know what you're using. Later,
  10. Did someone say that I love art deco?! That is too cool!! I really like the full length fins!! The head rests for the rear seats are a noce touch, completing the look of being in motion even when it's sitting still... Thanks for sharing,
  11. Bob, That is BEAUTIFUL!!! What color did you paint it!! I love the color!! Thanks for sharing and thanks for the tips,
  12. Thanks guys!! Like I said, I think I'll keep this one and give it a try. I built a lot of Ferrari models back in the 80s & 90s, but got into customs cars and haven't gone back, yet... Later,
  13. I like the dark insert on the hood. It goes well with the spoiler.
  14. Thanks, guys!! I'm probably going to keep it. I think my wife only paid about $15 for it...
  15. Very nice primer rod, Dennis!! I like the Caddy engine and all of the subtle, period perfect details that you added. Is there any way that you can crop your pics so we can see more of the model? Thanks for sharing,
  16. I always liked the cars with BIG fins!! They're just too cool!!
  17. Thanks, Bernard!! If you end up finding your way out to Tracy the day before the NNL West in March, you just may be the first one to see it all finished!! Thanks for the continual inspiration and design assistance! Later,
  18. Thanks, guys!! Clay, You need for Uncle Sam to find a reason for you to be on the left coast in early March; just in time for the NNL West! That way you'd get a chance to meet a lot of the folks out this way that have contributed to your hobby! Later,
  19. I'm looking for an assessment of Revell's Superamerica Ferrari kit. My wife got one for me the other day, but I'm curious to hear any other builder's thoughts of the kit before I open it. I've built several Tamiya and Italiari Ferrari kits in the past, so it would be great if you could compare this kit to any of those. Thanks guys!! Later,
  20. Michael, The weathering looks great!! How are you going to carry the weathered theme into the roof? Later,
  21. Yeah...I actually agree, but this is being built as a matched set, so I think anything else on the trailer or the truck would lessen the effect. Nick, The tubs are made from 0.04" styrene. I first cut the opening in the bed with a circle template; then bend and insert the tub; lastly I use the circle template to make the inner sidewall for the tub and glue it in place. It's actually really easy once you've done it a couple of times.. Later,
  22. Very cool, Ani...very cool indead!! I'll bet that both of the boys needed a serious shower once they were done playing with all of that!! Oh...Susan thinks it's really cool, too!! Happy birthday, David!!
  23. I hope so! Here are a few early pics of the trailer. It still needs a few filler panels here and there, plus a little bit of putty to smooth out the spine before it gets a coat of Fathom Green. Thanks for following along
  24. As it should be!! Those are GREAT pics of the kids that he put in his signature!!
  25. Will do, sergeant!! Thanks, Ani! Get Clay back to work on the truck trailer that he started building for the salt flay Avanti!! Take care, guys!!
