  1. Remember this, my old friend, todays "rare" kit is tomorrow's reissued $5 special at Big Lots! So build it, enjoy it and proudly post it here when you're done. Later,
  2. I'd have to agree with that, too!!
  3. Figuring out how to easily get Satin's adhesive (super glue) off of the newly finished paint job without having to respray the entire model...
  4. That's why they call these "drag" cars!!
  5. Make sure to keep his first builds as long as you can. He'll like looking back at them when he gets older!! Keep building!! You'll get better with each build!! Thanks for sharing,
  6. I really like the color combination on this one!! The burgundy with the red and tan is really nice!! Thanks for sharing!! Later,
  7. That's coming along nicely, Bernard!! Those carbs look GREAT!! Later,
  8. Very nice, clean detail work!! The custom chassis and all of the detail work on the engine is awesome!! Thanks for sharing,
  9. That is a very cool build of one of my favorite models!! Way to go Christian!! Keep up the GREAT work and keep posting!! You'll be better than the rest of us in no time at all!! Thanks for sharing,
  10. What...no opening doors on brass hinges with roll-down windows on a crank??? The paint looks GREAT, Bill!! Later,
  11. Very nice mockup pics, Bernard!! The whitewalls look right at home on this build!! Make this another one that I can't wait to see finished!! Later,
  12. The interior details are looking GREAT!! I really like the color combination, too!! I can't wait to see this one in person at the NNL West!! Later,
  13. Very nice rust work, Geez!! It's very authentic looking!! Thanks for sharing,
  14. My first car was a '64 Falcon Sprint, which looks a lot like the Comet. I also built the Daddy Warbucks '65 Falcon AF/X. Being a reissue from the 60's there's not much to it, (unless you like upsidedown Ford logos on the valve covers ), but it's still special to me. Thanks for sharing, Ed!! Later,
  15. I remember back in the mid-seventies when a good friend of mine had a red one of these with the 429 Cobra Jet engine. It could really scoot along!! Thanks for sharing,
  16. Another very nice build, Dave!! I really like the sloped grille and the slanted hood/door lines that parallel each other!! The high rear end of the body does well in showing the rear suspension...kind of like a short skirt on a girl with long, thin legs! Later,
  17. Clay, Thanks for the reminder of one of one of the many reasons that so many of us get to enjoy a peaceful holiday at home. I wish you and your entire family a happy and healthy holiday. Regards,
  18. Thanks for the mention, Dave, but if you really want to see what I'm up to (or any of the other builders on the west coast like you and I), come to the NNL West in March. I, (like most of my model building friends), come to the shows more for the social interaction, sharing of ideas, seeing old friends and just having fun than we do for the trophies. To tell the truth, I give all of my trophies away to the local Cub Scouts for them to use as awards for their annual Pinewood Derby event. Yes, I too have seen bias at many of the contests. Sometimes it's for a judge's friend; sometimes it's because you installed the correct number of rivets to all the right places; sometimes it's because the judges just like one type of car more than another...I really don't care. I'm just there to have fun! Later,
  19. Yeah...the toilet seat is my favorite part!! Too cool!! Thanks for sharing!!
  20. Very clean build!! Thanks for sharing!!
  21. Very nice T-Bolt!! That reminds me...I've got one of these to finish, too... Later,
  22. Clay, I have an extra set of glass for the Lightning that i can send you. I'll drop it in the mail, but it'll probably be Saturday before I have time to get to the post office. Later,
  23. Thanks for the quick reply, Chris!! I'll check Detail Masters for them. They're a great touch to finish off the backside of wherever you've applied fasteners! Later,
  24. Thanks, Chris! I've seen a lot of engines and various ways to set them up, but that was new to me!! GREAT work!! Thanks for sharing,
  25. Another GREAT piece of work!! Where did you get the fastener clips that you used on the frame? Thanks,
