  1. I'll second that, and everything that everyone else said, too! That is one beautiful model!! Thanks for sharing!!
  2. This pictures sells the concept!! The lines are PERFECT!!
  3. CB, It looks like it's coming along nicely!! Those are some serious teeth you've got going on there!! Later,
  4. It's looking pretty good, Brendan!! It looks like you'll have about 2x as many models built as I'll have at the NNL West! Later,
  5. Looks good, John!! Yeah...sometimes those old kits aren't as easy to build as we remember them to be when we were younger... Later,
  6. Too cool!! Was this some kind of kit?
  7. Yep, another nice build!! You and I do a lot of the same type of work. I've used the Mustang interior in a 49 Ford and a 49 Merc. It's the perfect interior for modernizing some of the older classics. Here's the '49 Merc: Here's the '49 Ford: Later,
  8. You and I have very similar customizing styles. Here's my '50 Chevy ZR1 pickup. Here's the link to the build: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9435 Later,
  9. Yeah...I still have a couple of them around, too. How about a truck? Here's my '57 Z06 pickup: Here's the link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8528 I won't mind if you build a clone of it if you don't mind me building a clone of your '59 Impala!! Later,
  10. Very nice build!! Is that Harry Gant's ride? I didn't see a driver's name...
  11. Welcome, Grumpy!! I have 2 sons in college. It's a good thing that I bought all of my models BEFORE we agreed to pay for their advanced schooling. And, at the rate that I build, they should graduate long before I run out of kits to build!! What part of Tennessee are you from? When I worked with Coors Technical Ceramics in Oak Ridge, I traveled throughout several parts of the state auditing their multiple manufacturing facilities. Later,
  12. Thanks!! I've got one of these that I started a few years ago. I may put a roof on it, too. Later,
  13. Thanks! I think that my problem is that my light sources are too far away from the model and not bright enough. Many of my pics have a bit of a yellowish look to them unless/until I adjust the color in the computer to compensate for the poor lighting... I also use either black paper or a street-colored diorama base to sit the models on when I photograph them. I'll try switching to white paper. That should help get rid of the dark shadows I often see under the model. Later,
  14. Rudy, You're correct; the windshield is too small for the opening. The way i've fixed it on my builds was to add a 0.03" strip of styrene to the bottom edge, then sand it to fit. The BMF hides the color of the added strip. On all of my builds of this kit, (4 or 5 in total), the rear window was always a bit large, but a little sanding around the edges was all that was needed to get it to fit OK. I hope that this helps,
  15. Yeah...I've done it, too...It scares the ###### out of you!! I'm glad that you're OK! Later,
  16. How many of those Corvette models did you buy?! Very nice pair of builds!! Thanks for sharing,
  17. I really like the T-bird!!
  18. I really like this one!! It looks like it came out of the same shop as my '58 Impala and TreeHugger Dave's shortened '59 Impala raodster!! Thanks for sharing,
  19. Looks good!! I like the way that the front fenders are pulled all the way back into the doors!! Thanks for sharing!!
  20. Yep, it looks like something from a Mad Max movie!! Thanks for sharing,
  21. Looks good!! What's the roof from? Later,
  22. It looks like your making GREAT progress, Dave!! This is an interesting build for me to watch because it's the inverse of what I've been doing; You're "backdating" a newer model, I've been "updating" older models. Can't wait to see it finished!! Later,
  23. Yeah...I agree with what the other said. I didn't even buy one of these for parts, but I thought about it several times when I saw them in the hobby shops... Thanks for sharing,
  24. Please do. I'd like to see what kind of lighting equipment and lighting angles you're using. Thanks,
  25. John, I too am in my early 50s and remember many of these types of models. I can't remember how many times I built the Boot Hill Express over the years! It looks like you did a GREAT job bringing this, (please excuse the pun), old dog back to life!! Later,
