  1. Lyle, There are almost too many really nice builds to pick a favorite, but I've made room in my display case for this one: Keep up the GREAT work!!
  2. My first car was a '64 Falcon Sprint, so I'd have to pick your Falcon gasser as my favorite. White with red interior; 289 with all of the original factory chrome parts on the engine...too cool!! Thanks for sharing,
  3. Mike, They're all well built, but I like the Cobra the best!!
  4. Thanks, guys!! Yes, the '58 Impala eventually came out pretty nice. To me there's something special about the big cars from that era that we'll probably never see again in automobile design. What amazed me most about that period was that they came out with new body styles almost every year!! Later,
  5. Thanks, Dennis!! If you can make your way to Santa Clara for the NNL West in March, you can see it in person! Thanks, Neal!! I was hoping to see you're '35 Chevy coupe finished and Under Glass for '08...oh well, there's always '09! Later,
  6. Yeah...there's just something really cool about a long and low car!! Thanks, Bob! I really like your site, but much of my more recent work falls outside of the guidelines of what you allow to be posted. Keep up the GREAT work on the TRaK site and I'll be sure to post my next build that fits your criteria. Later,
  7. I don't really plan what I'll build next. When I finish with one build I look through my stack of kits to see what inspires me at that moment. What I'd really like to do first in '09 is finish the ones that I started in '08, '07, '06, '05... Later,
  8. Though I've posted several of my builds throughout the year, to celebrate my first year on the best modeling forum on the internet, these are the ones that were finished in '08: First was the '43 Willys Gasser pickup. It's a combination of the Model King reissued Revell body on top of the newer Revell '41 Willys coupe chassis and drivetrain. The custom '58 Impala was one that almost never got completed. After several failed attempts, I sorted out the interior and got input from several of you on the tire and wheel combination before I settled on the Pegasus Big & Little Chrome T's. Then I built this 40 Ford pickup diorama for my friend Jerry Cardinal. He often told me how much he wanted a 1:1 40 Ford pickup. This was as close as I could come towards granting his wish. After building Jerry's pickup, I turned my attention towards the Avanti salt flat racer that I build for our friend Clay Jones. It was done to show him how to make brass door and hood hinges. I'm glad to say that he's used this example to hinge several of his own projects. Then there was the somewhat controversial "Raptor". It was built as a modern day tribute to Ed Roth. The matching hauler and trailer should be done within the next few weeks. Lastly for '08 is something that I built for the upcoming NNL West in March. This is the Future Rat; built as a look forward about 50+ years to what a hotrod from our current time might look like if it's not properly preserved. Thanks to all of you for your the builds that you shared with all of us, and the support and inspiration that you all continually provide. Lastly, thanks to Gregg for providing the best model car forum on the internet! Later,
  9. I like this one the best!! The weathering of the lettering and the rust on the welds from the chop make this one look VERY authentic!! Thanks for sharing,
  10. I'll be watching these, Dave!! '34 Fords are one of my more favored cars of all time!! Keep up the GREAT work into and throughout '09!! Later,
  11. You're very welcome, Bernard!! And thanks to you for the inspiration and assistance that you offered throughout the year!! It's a pretty close call, but I'd have to say that the FED is my favorite of your builds from last year!! '08 was a tough year for many of us, our friends and our families. Here's to hoping that '09 is a much better year!! Keep building and posting!! Later,
  12. No problem, Mike!! Glad to help!! To bad that I can't help you with that POS beyond saying that you've probably taken one of the best routes in how you're building it. That kit is probably OK as a rat or a dragster, as long as you've got enough goodies in the parts box to make it a complete build. Keep us posted on your progress,
  13. They all look great, but I really like the yellow Ferrari!! What's on the build list for '09?
  14. That is too funny, seeing as how I'm in my mid-fifties! Now please get busy and post more pics before I'm too old to appreciate them! Later,
  15. More pics!!
  16. That's nasty!! Too bad...it was looking pretty cool!! Oh well, I'm sure that Skwirly II will look pretty cool, too!! Later,
  17. Awesome craftsmanship and creativity!! I'd get in line to buy a resin replica of this one!! Keep up the GREAT work!! I can't wait to see this one finished!! For anyone who hasn't looked at the in process pics of this build on Scott's Fotki site, I guarantee you that it's well worth the time. Thanks for sharing, Scott!! Later,
  18. Andy, All three look GREAT!! Let me know when you're tired of looking at any of them. I've already made room in my display case! Thanks for sharing,
  19. The 50 Ford convertible kit has been released many times. If you look on eBay you'll find the same kit, (but in a different box), going for about $10. Regards,
  20. Dave, I bow to your greatness on this build!! I'd love to build one, too, but decals HATE me!! The only other person that I know that can apply that many decals this well is my friend Hossain Salimi. You guys could apply decals flawlessly, (and with no wrinkles), to a ball!! Amazing!! Keep up the GREAT work!! I can hardly wait to see this one finished!! Later,
  21. Now that's one Stude that I really like! And, the '51 Chevy is my favorite of the builds!! Thanks for sharing,
  22. Straight sewing pins work well. You can also make it from plastic stock and paint it when you're done...
  23. As it was intended!! Thanks,
  24. The math is simple; divide the number of inches you measure or need by 24 or 25 to get the scale equivalent. 12 inches divided by 24 = 0.5 inches. 12 inches divided by 25 = 0.48 inches. Take care, (and put that new dial caliper to good use ),
  25. I'll second all of that!!
