  1. Very nicely done, great detail, i wish those Scale Kraft kits were still available ....
  2. I've tried many things over the years, but now i used Caustic Soda, cheap to buy, simple to use, and never found a paint that it can't remove and does no harm to the plastic,
  3. Yes, it is the Tamiya Mini Cooper kit
  4. brilliant work, looks so realistic,
  5. Depends on where the orange peel is .. Did you sand out the primer before applying the top coats ? if not you may have orange peel showing though from the primer, in this case you won't get rid of it, if it's in the top colour coat, you may have to flat past the clear to get rid of it, if it's simply in the final clear coat, a light sand and polish will sort it out.
  6. Very nice, brilliant job on the bumper, couldn't tell they were scratch built .
  7. Bought mine many years ago from Graphic Air Systems, been a very good unit. http://www.graphicair.co.uk/acatalog/Graph...tion_Units.html
  8. Very nice work, brilliant conversion, I bought the hasegawa panel van when they first came out, and i was dissapointed that they had used the wheels from the '66 Beetle kit, also the molded in from VW emblem put me off, so i sold it on, and when the relesed the samba, i had a look and found the same problems, so i never bought one, glad to see revell come to the rescue, it may be harder to build being a multi piece body, but i've had a look through the parts, and it looks like it will build into a nice model. Still nice to see someone backdating a model, and the colour is bang on ... I've always had a soft spot for VW buses

    Pug is done.

Very nice job, brilliant paint finish and cracking detail ..
  10. 1955 - 1963
  11. It's a shame hasegawa saw fit to put the wrong wheels and hubcaps in the kit, they are off a much later VW, these buses had drum brakes so didn't have the slots in the wheels, the newer revell version, which i purchased a few weeks ago, has to correct wheels and hubcaps
  12. Very nicely done, cracking paint job,
  13. Try some Novus plastic polish, worked for me when i have had the same problem in the past
  14. I don't build too many American vehicles, but here's some shots of the AMT Chevy S-10 Pick up i built a few years ago, built out of the box with just a bit of BMF added, colour i used was actually Rover polynesian turquoise, which was as close as could get to the photo i had at the time
  15. I have a Tamiya Karmann Ghia kit that the bodyshell got broken, so could sort you out the engine parts out of it
  16. Great Build, i love these Mni Kits, there so much fun to build, the colour suits it well, which is very close to the late 80's colour they painted the Mini's in, Zircon blue if i remember correctly .... Still have a few more of these to build .....
  17. That Opel is just brilliant, my uncle had the estate version when i used to live in Spain, it looks so real .... he has so much talent, i'd love to fnd out i that was a resin kit ...
  18. I have this very kit to build, and yes, the Japanese compnay, Aoshima kitted it, i did have a look at one, and it is indeed the very same kit as the Revell AG version.
  19. You may be thinking of the 911 Turbo with the big "Whale Tail" spoiler on the boot, the 944 Turbo had a small lip spolier on the tailgate, nice to see the kit has the proper Tele dial wheels ...
  20. One of my favorite Ferrari's, apart from the 246 Dino, looking forward to this build, might just have to get one for myself
  21. Been doing a bit more on the Bug over the last few days, but today i dry fitted the bodyshell and chassis, looks like a very good fit, i also added the chrome stip to one of the running boards, using BMF
  22. Yep, hard as nails by now, and being cellulose paint dries pretty much straight away, luckily all the parts have been sealed in plastic containers, so haven't been affected by the dreaded dust, meguires scratch X made a short job of the polishing.
  23. Been away from modelling for a while, but just started to crack on with the Beetle kit again, Body has now been polished and is waiting for the chrome trim to be added with BMF, for more photo's, follow the link http://public.fotki.com/geebee1963/tamiya-1966-volkswa/
  24. Thanks for the link, i also have a couple of good books on the MK2. I think the "Racing" version of the Tamiya MK2 had slightly duller chrome .....
  25. Very nice paintwork, i have this kit to build myself, still not decided what colour to paint it.
