  1. Just the other side spear to do now, and the bmf is finished
  2. A few sprue shots I took of the Heller version this morning, their other kits are the same, with just different decals
  3. Very nice, and very realistic build ...
  4. Thats how I did this one, built back in the md 90's
  5. Good choice, that will be my next build, I've just ordered the Vert Bamboo paint for it, I've also ordered the paint to do the Heller version afterwards, they should look nice in the display cabinet next to the Tamiya version
  6. Now that's a superb model, I bet your Dad was over the moon with it .....
  7. I would shoot the body colour, then the clear coat, then when dry, mask up the bodyshell and airbrush the black trim using satin black.
  8. very nice builds, I like the repair panel on the fourgonnette
  9. it was actually a special edition brought out by Citroen, after it was used in the film, complete with fake bullet holes ! http://lnx.2cvsemprecarichi.com/2cv-james-bond-007/
  10. Found a Heller version in the stash I didn't know I had,so I've just ordered the paint to build both the Revell "Sauss Ente" and the Heller Vert Plantation versions, they'll be in the "On the Workbench" section once the Chrysler 300 has been finished.
  11. The "Ignore" function on the forum works very well ......
  12. Here's my build of the Tamiya version built a few years ago, after I've finished the Chrysler I'm building at the moment, I think I'm going to have a go at the Revell kit http://geoffbrown.webs.com/tamiyacitroen2cv.htm
  13. Opinions, yes, not the complete history of the 2cv, this was the first post by the original poster, if I was reading all this, I don't think I would be in a hurry to return, I take it he has access to the internet, so he could, if he wanted, find all this out for himself .....
  14. Managed to track down another second hand kit to use for a few parts, not sure what I'm going to do with the rest of the kit, but it did have the radiator support in it that I needed, the hole where the bonnet locking pin would go was drilled out, and then painted body colour, then the bolt detail was picked out with some Tamiya titanium gold on the end of a wooden cocktail stick While waiting for my new photo etch scissors to arrive from China, I cracked on with the BMF on the body Rear bumper redone using Alclad chrome
  15. Why ?? just doesn't make sense, it's £1 cheaper than the resin parts, and you've got to hopefully get the headlamps off without breaking them, then paint them, and then you're left with a diecast model with no headlamps, I bet the original poster is regretting even making his post asking which 2CV model is the better one.
  16. unless you track down an old Imai kit, and use the square headlamps from that kit, as cast your own. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/324079-imai-b-869-500-citroen-2cv6
  17. Well if you prefer the rectangular headlamps, there available in resin http://www.hiroboy.com/124_Citroen_2CV_007_1981_Decals_and_Resin--product--4523.html
  18. Have a read here, http://www.citroenet.org.uk/passenger-cars/michelin/2cv/history/1970.html Looks like Tamiya got it correct .....
  19. it's not incorrect, it's a 1970-74 2CV6, the rectangular headlamps were fitted 1974 onwards, and the Revell versions are correct, non of those models had rectangular headlamps
  20. Only this one has the resin older bonnet, http://modelingmadness.com/scott/cars/2cvpreview.htm
  21. Thanks for the reply, What I know about American V8's or any other engines to be honest, you could write on the back of a postage stamp, I'm more knowledgeable about British and European engines, I did read his preferred method of payment and it did seem a bit long winded, it mentioned a Fax machine, which I haven't owned one for about 15 years, I'm not in a rush to get it, so I think I'll do as you suggest, and wait for a better product. I also can't stand companies who don't bother answering enquiries, the same happened to me, when I was looking for some photo etch detail sets, no one bothered to send me a reply, so I went somewhere else.
  22. I've been using these for a while now, there also available in grey and brown, I find it better to use a 10/0 artist brush than the one supplied in the lid
  23. I've just read the article, amazing work, the CAD is way over my head, I do see 3D printing being the next way of producing aftermarket parts for the modelling trade, how much are you charging for one, and what's the best way of sending the funds ? PayPal ?
  24. thanks for the link, I'll be ordering a couple of those .....
  25. That's because at one time Gunze Sangyo were the distributor in Japan for Airfix models. Both the Revell & Tamiya versions have the option of displaying the model with the roof open or closed
