Feeling the urge to diversify.I have been wanting to build some sports car racers for some time now. Spent some time at Road America in early 70's, and was captivated by the Can Am, Trans Am and June sprints. I have more then a half dozen sports car kits, ranging from the very simple to ridiculously intimidating! Thought I would start with a simple one, an old Lindberg D Jag. All plastic (wheels and tires) molded in red. No more the 10 parts I reckon. Followed the directions, primed and painted all parts before hand, and I must say I am pleased with the results. I like to build realistic, plausible race cars and make up stories about them, some times. If I am in the wrong, place, please let me know. Here's the story: Several automotively inclined fellas from Indiana decide they want to go down to Florida and try their hand at NASCAR. The Permatex Sportsman series, to be specific. They acquire a discarded Holman Moody chassis, find a 64 junkyard T_Bird, buy a 427 Ford motor, and get the a body shop and a full service garage to sponsor and help out. Small time budget, but skilled and determined to make this happen. Here is the result.

Might as well jump right in Made from an AMT kit, scratch built the race car components, and used a NASCAR front clip for my "kalf chassis". Plastic Performance Wheels and tires. Hosted on Fotki

Hello everyone, building models since I was a teenager, and I am now 70 years old. Like old school racing models, planes, and most anything miniature. Was on Fred Sudlow and Randy Ayers forums. Play a little music on the side, too. No stranger to posting. Looking forward to getting my feet wet. Tom
