  1. I've been working a lot but got some time last night for this one. I glued the sub assemblies together for the engine and fairings which was a great start. Jim
  2. Thanks for the compliments guys! The fitting issues are quite minor and only a problem if you're bad at trial fitting or dummy assembly like I am! Being spoilt by Tamiya bike kits is the only reason you'd notice anything but from memory, if you're building this one, trial fit the exhaust and fairings before paint. I could have modified both to fit nicer and more squarely but painted first and missed an opportunity. I hope that's enough info? Jim
  3. Wheels and tyres done! Gotta love the Tamiya tyre transfers. Jim
  4. Thanks! I'm having fun with it. I finished the body decal work and I'll shoot some clear on to seal them in. Also a progress pic of the interior and chassis plate. Jim
  5. Woohoo! Glad to have the bulk of these done. Old decals can test your patience so much. A couple fell right apart but I was lucky enough that they were minor ones. I couldn't get the one above the door to sit properly, I may go back to it but I'll see how that goes, I may chicken out! The inside of the 36 on the bonnet wasn't sitting right as it's right on top of a Louvre so I did it by hand with paint instead. The Louvre on the other side has the same problem so I'll look at trying to match the red and green on that one if I'm feeling brave.
  6. Thanks for the motivation nitro, I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Jim
  7. I opened this one a little while ago but went no further, out again now and I'll get into it. It's been built to death by everyone but I'll put my spin on it anyway. I have the base Tamiya kit, the Tamiya fork set, and a cheap small PE set from crazy modeller. Also a PE and resin clutch which I don't remember building but I must have already! Jim
  8. Not big progress but still going ok. I did the headlight backing, door and panel gaps and started getting the body ready for decals Jim
  9. Thanks! The paint came up ok. I've been working on the body doing panel lines and other details. I'm really looking forward to doing the decals, they're such a huge part of what this car means to so many. Jim
  10. Thanks Pierre! Tamiya quality is always pretty nice, some only build Tamiya for that reason but I think a good modeller can make ANY kit fabulous. I got some Zero pure white laid on the body, cage and wheels, they came up pretty good, I also painted the brake rotors. Jim
  11. A good start so far, the body is prepped and ready for paint, along with the wheel centres, cage and other parts. Will paint tomorrow when it is a bit warmer weather. Jim
  12. New project started tonight. I intend to build it out of the box and give it to my friend who loves this car. Jim
  13. Thanks JC, I'm really happy with it. Not 100% sure how they finished but they didn't win. Honda got it. Jim
  14. All done apart from some minor detailing. Fujimi kit, painted in Zero, Gravity and Vallejo. Decals by Blue Stuff. Thanks for following along. Jim
  15. Things are moving along, the finish is in sight! The fujimi bike kits have some fitting issues but super cool subject matter makes up for it. Jim
  16. Got the frame done in AK polished aluminium, it's a bit darker than I think is realistic but still looks good. Then I assembled the rear wheel, swingarm then engine and forks into frame. It's coming along well Jim
  17. Been a pleasure to follow along but wow, great work on that dash! Jim
  18. Thanks Spike! I cleared over the decals so pretty happy to get to that point. Did the dash, tail light then the primary pipes in alclad. Fitted headlights and covers, I also painted the frame in a black basecoat, just waiting for it to dry and then try some AK metal on it. I haven't used it before so will be a great experiment ? Jim
  19. Hey afx, not GP, this one raced in the Bol d'Or which is a 24hour endurance race in France. Jim
  20. A bit slow lately, more decal work and brake rotors onto wheels, I'll try and get some clear over them later today. Thanks for looking everyone. Jim
  21. Thanks afx, it's coming along really nice Jim
  22. Come on pal, just what ya see!
  23. This is coming along great! Jim
  24. The decals came up nice, still a couple more to do but a great start. The blue stuff decals go on soooo nice. Jim
