  1. Fixed the wheel alignment by some judicious bending of the tie rod end connections on the knuckles. Before and after pics.
  2. Force: The box is marked made in Denmark I'll check the copywrite date. Joe
  3. Built the IMC Dodge L-700 50 years ago. The version shown in orange paint. Also built the matching box trailer but no photos as it is storage. Now the present: Wife bought the truck and tanker kit at Ollies for a Christmas gift. This time it will have all the flaws from the previous build corrected starting with the steering knuckles. By supergluing a small scrap plastic across the lower attachment kingpin pivot fork the issue of the lower arm camming out may be solved. See pics below. The spindle can be pivoted into place and the top cap glued on to the spindle being careful not to get glue on the pin. The overlong pin top pin needs to be filed down. More to come.
  4. Sorry, too quick on the trigger. About 75% done. Plan on connecting to the flatbed per the trailer box art. Trailer has not been started.
  5. Finally completed the Imex car carrier acquired many years ago. I think it is the precursor to the Revell kit. The kit was made in Denmark. See attached photo of first sheet of instruction sheet. Hooked it to an International tractor. Threw the Camaro on for kicks.
  6. Hi Ken, great build. Working on my 2nd one now. First was built in 1973, still have it along with the gravel trailer. One observation. If you look at the center bottom of the dash you will see a small cutout, that is the location for the heater box as opposed to the floor in front of the passenger seat. The box is glued to the front interior wall and the bottom of the dash.
  7. Good idea, I still have a set from the original issued kit If they are unusable I'll let you know.
  8. The other alternative would be to mask the stripes and then paint allowing the white plastic to be the stripes. The stars would be a little more complicated unless I can find some in a craft store to use as masks.
  9. I was planning on creating the box art version of the kit. Does anyone know if the white stripe and star decals are opaque enough to prevent the base blue and red colors from bleeding through? Thx in advance, Joe
  10. The Oversize Load decals measure 3 1/8 x 5/8 in.
  11. The finished kit. It was an easy build other than the cross bars on the extension superstructure not lining up exactly. The long deck was warped but my darling wife reminded me that flatbed trucks have a hump to not sag when loaded. The load is 7/8 diameter wooden dowels painted to look like pipes. The red plastic ends are Caplugs used where i work to seal the ends of copper tubes during transit to our building. Hold-down chains and rub rail hooks are from Hobby Lobby. Straps to hold the load together are rubber bands painted black with a Sharpie. A Mack DM800 is on the shelf to be constructed to pull the rig. Also a pic of the kit decals. Enjoy, Joe
