B4 calling it a night here's a quickie frame I did for this truck. Let me know what you think good bad or ugly ? Filled in the headlight area as the stock cab is missing the raised headlight area at the corner of the cab like it should be. Enjoy as i'm getting a cat scan in the morning JK. Seriously enjoy -

So b4 I call it a night I built a quickie frame for this truck. Let me know what you think good bad or ugly. The frame by itself then with the grill test fit then the cab. On the cab i filled in the headlights as the stock headlight parts don't extend to the corner of the cab like they should. Enjoy -
Right plum looking ride

Minor update as i'm getting a cat scan in the morning JK. Seriously though a little more work on the rear interlock axle. Went to hobby lobby found some plain black rhinestones that are about the perfect size needed for the rear housing of the axles. Super glued it to the top of a paint jar so i could sand it round instead of faceted. Added top and bottom strips of .010X.060 strip on the axle to help give it slope at the housing. It's getting there these are the hardest parts of the build once past this it's somewhat smooth sailing. Also found my frame material so i'll be able to start on that now to. To also give you a better understanding it's next to a #11 exacto handle. ? -

Small update found my frame material did a little more work on the rear most differential. Went to hobby lobby and in the craft section found just about the right size non glittery rhinestone. So sanded it down to get it semi round to represent the housing cover. Here's a couple pics including the .010 X .060 strips used to make the arch across the top and bottom of the housing. Shown next to a normal #11 style exacto handle for size comparison. -

So being used for a grain trailer i could technically get away using a Rockwell walking beam suspension then. ??? -

Update as i slowly progress found my 0.010 fiber optics and my. 0402 micro smds let there be light Hehehehehe. Tested it on a longer frame kw i'm also working on along with testing a couple of trailers behind it to get a feel for where this truck is going. Thinking the kw chassis will look about right length wise for a western truck give it the look i'm after. So as soon as i find my frame material I can get started on that found most of my engine block plastic so will be able to get started on that now. Also found the tubing for my mufflers so making some progress. The black trailer i stripped the silver off took 2-months to get it to bare plastic. Added an aftermarket TK reefer unit along with a working slider for this trailer will have wobblies on it the red is tru-color CB&Q Chinese Red. The floor was painted with MM aircraft interior black have a really cool idea for this trailer. The white bud of California trailer is the stock athearn trailer. The green trailmobile 40' skateboard has a real wood deck in the kit might hook this behind it and throw a 28' rollerskate behind that with a termite load lol. The W900A might be the next truck could end up with a dry bulk doubles set like i used to drive after the freightshaker is done not sure yet as found a bunch of unfinished 2+ year old projects today. -

More pic fer ya. 1st is a pair of 359's waiting to be rebuilt into 1970's trucks cab & sleeper from the red one will be repainted and modded to go with my trailmobile 40' skateboard and 28' rollerskate lumber set. The kw in a test shot to figure which way i want to go with it. Then there's the construction trailer not sure what will pull it. The IH 4300? Can is going bye bye as it's too new for my era will be replacing it with a 2000 series IH cab making it a standard cab water tanker that will have working lights. That's all for now still looking for the rest of my evergreen frame material. Toodles. -

As I get up to speed thought I would get caught up on some other forgotten projects. While looking thru boxes I came across a lot of items I really need to finish the freightliner cabover will be first then it's open season on what I grab. All HO scale 1/87th Freightliner tested on my stock W900 chassis that will also be replaced. Also found my muffler material yee haw baby. The trailers will also get a make over the Bud of California is a stock trailer. The trailer with the red TK reefer is in it's stripped bare black plastic with plans for it also. The red reefer trailer also has an aftermarket working slider as seen by the 2 pics. Trailer floor painted with MM aircraft interior black, reefer painted with CB&Q Chinese red from tru-color. -

Can anyone show me what kind of rear suspension a freightliner cabover would have for a time frame of the 1970's. I ask as i'm building a scratchbuilt frame, axles, and suspension for this truck. Also this is in HO 1/87th scale any pics will deeply be appreciated. Also this tractor will be used as the power for my cow chow wagon and feed trough, cold box, dry box, or skateboard & rollerskate set. Thanks for any help.
