Hi! Yhank you for the infos. I can see why I never heard about this fine product. In the same line of thought, I will try your technique, but with dry pearl powder in silver variety. I bought a 12 colour selection at Michael's, here in Canada. It's made by Jacquar products, out of California. I had great results mixing these pearl powders in clear or other paints for application via air brush. I wonder what would be the effect if I "rubbed" them on a silver or light gunmetal base coat? I'll keep you posted if the results are nearly as convincing as yours. Who knows. As Einstein liked to say: "Progress is born of chaos"... Or was it Stephen Hawkins? CT

Hi Francis! Your cut-line gives new meaning to the expression "hairline joint"... Impressive. The plastic laminate to create the sidewall "spear" is a very good idea. I knew I would learns a lot on this thread! CT -
Hi Bernard! Thank you for the link to your previous post. Very interesting. I find the PU cab VERY convincing. Bravo! Now: I'm lost as to that "Kosutte Gin Sang" powder... Where would I find that, never even read about it! I remember the old Metalizers paints (RIP)... taken off the market because of concerns with the lead they contained. But Kosutte? Please explain further if you will. Many thanks! CT

Hi! Your bare-metal 32 puzzles me... Is-it an application of Bare Metal Foil, or do you have a secret technique to get that finish... Just curious... CT

Hi! Great production. Your paint finishing is absolutely world-class! Bravo. I had one of those 1/1 black stepside PU in black... and it was not as shiny as your model. It says it all... CT

Ah-Ha! Now it definitely runs in the family! Great that you pass it on to your daughter. I was in custom painting on choppers, vans and customs since the 60's, and I LOVE HOK products... That passion pearl was a big hit in the 90's: couldn't stop shooting it! Here's just one old archive photo... Keep on! CT

Hi! That mohair interior looks very real! And that pink hue... Cool! CT

Hi Jerry! The chute activation cable is pure twisted silver beading wire in very small size, that I bought at Michael's, a well known craft store. It is semi-rigid, and therefore keeps its shape once you position it. It also takes any radius bend fairly well. The chute release handle & spring was scratch-built out of Plastruct. It is routed along the roll cage rear support bars, goes tru the floor panel, and emerges to reach the chute mounting plate, that one being fixed to the push-bar. Hence, it does not interfere with body removal. That's the best way to go for me, otherwise removing the body becomes a chore... here are a few pics. Enjoy. Good luck with your build, and keep us posted! CT -
Hi! Thanks for the comments! CT

Hi! Lots of imagination at work here... Bravo! Is the satin monochrome finish your "signature" building trait, or is-it just a theme for those "sins"? Just curious... CT

Hi! I can see why... I LOVE Arizona, been there many times. My favorite restaurant was Garcia's, in the Paradise Valley area, if I remember correctly. Sublime Tex-Mex! Cheers! CT

Hi Jim! Promising start. I'll follow on your build. I'm finishing a Pro-Touring version of this kit, in Coupe form. I've opened everything (doors, trunk, etc.), and building door jambs for the suicide doors got me to realize the car has different measurements on both sides (!?!). I've not verified if the same is true with the convertible version, of which I have one in my stash. I guess it has to do with the mastering process back then, since this is VERY old tooling. That may explain the problems outiled by Alan in the post above. Anyways... Just to entertain you: here's a mash-up of your body with the AMT Ford Probe greenhouse, along the style of Ford's FortyNine concept car. Hours of fun with styrene. CT

38 ford van

Hi Kyle! I'm certain you will! Is-this the Roush 351 that comes with the Foose PU? Looks like it... CT ps: I assume the headlights made it undamaged to your mail box! All is great then... -
Hi Mattias! Thanks for the comments. This Eldo is actually a rear wheel drive (!)... cause the Johan floorpan-chassis was just poor on details. So, I mashed a 66 Riviera chassis/floorpan with the Johan Eldo engine, modified the tunnel... and Voilà! A RWD "experimental" Elodrado. Raised a lot of eyebrows at shows, but got a few trophies. CT

Hi! Promising built. I love the patina you achieved. Convincing. I'm worried, though: will this engine fit the confines of the 38 pointy nose? Just curious... CT -
Hi Pete! Well, your french IS magnifique. Thank you Sir! CT

Hi! Thank you Ismo, much appreciated! To your question, there is more indeed... But the pictures I haven't taken yet... There is: a 1958 Hemi 'Cuda muscle car (obviously a fantasy), a 69 1/2 (?!) ZR1 powered Camaro Pro-Touring with a tilting front-end/doors unit + hatch back rear trunk, and a Surf Shop shortened Dodge Caravan open-air top van. I also built a fantasy 1938 Lincoln SUV out of the Lindberg Vantastic. Here are the pix, that I forgot this morning. Cheers! CT

Hi! Happy new year to all, and plenty of building time for you in 2020! I spend more time building than photographing... so all of my 12 cars have not been pictured yet. But here are some. Enjoy! CT

Hi! Quite a gallery, Sir! Broad spectrum and top execution. Bravo! CT

Hi Francis! Great work, as usual I should add! Did your references come from pictures of the real truck, or do you have access to one? Maybe you have a shop manual? Just curious... CT -

Bonjour Francis! Thanks for the compliments. From a Master, it's flattering. I will certainly check your thread, I'm certain I will learn a lot! Happy new year, and hope to see you at the RAM North-East! CT -
Hi! Interesting. Is it a Flintstone body? You sure finished it masterfully! CT
