  1. Nice might be something ill have to add to my collection. Shame that there isn't more 50`s fords available especially different 55 and 56 Ford models there is enough of them offered.
  2. Thanks for the reply. I looked at some photos on ebay of that kit. looks like it might be workable. Looks like I will have to sand the thickness down to make it a bit shallower but I think that might actually work if the diameter is proper. It is too big though it looks like its going out to the rim itself which should be what the beauty ring in this year covers with a little paint visible between the beauty ring and the hubcap.
  3. Thanks for the reply, that's what I thought but I was wondering if maybe someone knew. I just don't see the car being a red interior with this greyish colored inserts. For me the only reference material I ever was able to find is below in the forms of photos of a '57 Custom 300 with black interior. The door panel looks to be black and white and the seat is white vinyl which I would have to scrap my seat I have as I would never be able to spray white over this black. Personally I cant find any information online for if there was a black on black interior option in '57. Only place I could check LeBarron Bonney that I was going to buy my interior kit for my '56 from I just found out filed for chapter 7 earlier this year and are no longer in business. So these two photos is all I can go off of for my build. I just cant see ford doing a black and white interior combo for a red and white exterior car. I could see a black on black interior though or a black on red interior. None the less here are some photos of what I have done as of late last year when I finally put the kit up for the winter for better weather to clear the body. In the end my goal is to have a collection of these old nascars to show the evolution of the race cars from the 60`s through the 70`s and 80`s.
  4. Looks good. I haven't started work on my 56 Victoria kit that I will be downgrading model wise. Its a shame they don't come out with some newer molds that are a bit more detailed especially under the hood.
  5. Does anyone out there know what the original color of the interior was when Roberts was running this car for the 1957 race year? I seen so many photos replicas of the car with a red interior but I cant find any information on a grey colored seat insert that was offered up with red interior for 57. Im trying to get my build as accurate as I can as I want it to look like a museum display car just scaled down. Below are the photos of what I have so far. I haven't worked on the model in about a year, weather just haven't been right for mixing up my 2 part clear for the body. Figure if I need to make changes on the interior color scheme I can do it before I do my final assembly.
  6. Are they the same caps found in the 57 Fairlane kits? I got a couple 57 Fairlane kits the fireball Roberts kit which doesn't use hubcaps but they have the regular standard caps in the kit I could use. Since I got two sets if they are the same I could try my hand at resculpting the shape a bit. Will weather it anyways with rust and dirt/grime and cobwebs for a diorama of my car before I brought it home. the other build I want to do is either a restored or show room new appearance.
  7. Correct, those are the stardard hubcaps on 55/56 ford cars, the full size deluxe caps were optional. only difference between 55 and 56 is the color of the insert. 55 was red while 56 was white. In theory baby moons could be modified to work but in 1/25 scale it might be hard to get the center done just right at least right enough for my goals.
  8. That's what I was afraid of. Im looking at quite possibly having two 3D printed bodies printed as no one makes Town Sedan bodies and the Club Sedan bodies I could modify I cant find anyone that has any in stock. I thought about using the stock oem caps from my fireball Roberts kit but that's for a '57 Ford which they were shaped differently and not close enough to make them resemble the 55-56 hubcaps.
  9. Anyone know of a place that offers aftermarket stock hubcaps in 1/25 scale? If I can ever locate a couple '56 Fairlane Club Sedan bodies to modify to reflect my Town Sedan, I will need oem style hubcaps for 55/56 that is not the deluxe hubcap. I looked online the past year and have found a bunch but nothing that is remotely close to resembling the oem hubcaps that I could modify to make them look proper.
  10. I know this is a old topic, but I been waiting on a email reply from steve for a while now. I was trying to buy the '56 Ford Club Sedan body for my plan to cut it up and convert it into a Town Sedan. He didn't have any in stock and was supposed to email me when he got more in. That was back in November 2017. I sent another email a couple weeks back or so and I haven't received a reply so I don't know if the company is still in business or not as of this point in time.
