  1. There are a lot of nice models here and I am a little embarrassed to show mine. In my defense, I have not built a model in 50 years or so. The reason for starting again is interesting or at least unusual. I got rear ended a few years ago and went from bed ridden to final check out of rehab. They told me to recover more dexterity and strength I had to do more exorcise and fine delicate work on my own. So I do the exorcise 1 hour a day to cover that and decided to dig out my old box of unfinished models stored away. This is my first finished model. The level is about what I did at 13 (in 1959 !) You can see more and read more (including how us dinosaurs built models) on my website: scalemodelcars.weebly.com Anyway, I chose this kit from my brothers stock as a simple and dumbed down starter. 1961 Falcon Ranchero. When I say it is finished, I mean it is as done as I want at this time. I have 3 engines made to drop in depending on mood. Mild to wild. the 289 Cobra would be a nice ride back in the 70's. The 427 wedge would have been a powerful street wagon (if a little nose heavy). Then there is the SOHC for the wild show off engine. Take your choice. If you zoom in you can see some interesting details and lots of sloppy work but I am very satisfied with my improvement over the months of work. Later on I will show some old unfinished models from the past and maybe some drawings too. I will continue to build as I have a large supply of kits (started and new) including all the real cars I have had that I dearly miss now (I do have a couple still). More on my website for those interested.
  2. My first car was a 57 Ford 2 door. I bought all the models of cars in my life that I liked and this makes me want to work on the 57 next. Revell 57 Ford Custom. Looks like a nice kit. I hope I can make it as good as yours. Very clean.
  3. Creative is an understatement. Nice work.
  4. Excellent builds of cars and modelromas. And equally fine photography. I wish I could see the Nomad better as I am finishing up e 55 myself. Nice detail and variety. Makes it more interesting. Gary
  5. Incredible detail. Best I have seen. How do you get the bolts so perfect all over? I have been out of model building for 45 years so I am behind a bit ? Makes me not want to show my work. Too embarrassing. Sure is nice work.
  6. Hello, I built 1/25 polystyrene cars from 12 to about 30 years old. About 4 years ago I had a serious accident (cracked my spine in 2 places). After months of bed ridden, wheel chair, walker, cane and all the rehab they had, the rehab woman said if I wanted to improve more I would need to do it myself by working with tiny things. I dug out all the old models I had put away and started a web site to document things. scalemodelcars.weebly.com if you want a look. I hope they allow websites. Now I am 73 and I need to continue with the site as my hands (and feet) are still tingly but they dont seem to be improving noticeably but the site also helps me keep Alzheimer's at bay (I hope). My goal for the site is to build models of my favorite real cars I have owned (or in some cases still own). I cant work on the real ones much though I am trying. So, talk to ya later.
