I thought I was getting closer to get the container and chassis in primer soon, but I started gathering up parts and putting them in trays and primer stage will have to wait. I have alot of items to go on yet. I dont know why Italeri would make both sides one piece and the roof ,floor and bulkhead multi piece, the rear doors , yes I understand that ,but its just a box , oh well this is where Im at this week.

Whie waiting on tractor decals before going any farther, I did some container chassis work and this is the final position of the container on the chassis. Many mock ups and structure changes to get here, but this is the bones. The rear trailer wheels are my choice for all 3 axles. Now I get some things glued and epoxied in.

what was it that you decided on the axle set-up for the container trailer ??????
DJ
First I added some hood straps , the molded in ones are just bad..so with the tractor almost done the container chassis needs to be stretched so the can rides more in the middle. Also getting rid of the 6 larger single tires (not super singles) and replacing with 6 sets of 2 . Now to find the best chassis cut, adding 4" up to the 15 inch mark.

I built this for my wifes Christmas village. The ITC kit is from 1962. Ideal Toy Company HO scale horse and buggy 60 year old kit box bottom was falling apart.
Even tho' all the parts were still on the runners they are small enough to fall through cracks in the box bottom so I built 1 of the 2 in the kit. Soon as my eyes come out of squint mode I will do the second one.

Great build Ken!
Don't think this show aired in Australia, even though they inflicted Gilligan's Island and Dobie Gillis repeats on us year after year......
Your not missing anything by not getting this show , it didnt last very ong. Heres a cut from YouTube. The car was the star and maybe Bob Denver made a few $$.

With a few set backs I managed to get this one done. The TV show from the late 60s billed this as a '24 Lincoln, the kit shares a platform with the '28 Lincoln Gangbusters kit. The complete chassis are the same (except tires and wheels)the engine is the same and the body is the same . The interior is where they differ. It has an 'L' shaped rear seat thats tattered, a turn style, double coffee pot meter, and a driver seat with exposed springs on the back. Outside add-ons are a big front bumper, clothesbrush wiper, side rails, fold out step, grappling hook for quick stops, twin hood scoops, a custom roof with luggage racks and air horns. The decals were pretty fagile and needed to be cleared twice before using. The original body was warped and another kit donated the body. The hood was the trouble spot, 7pcs total plus 2 handles. I got it to work great until it was totally mounted, thats when my tone and new select words changed. I know it has an engine, the hoods not glued shut but it will never be opened by me again. There were so many add on parts it was hard to grab it to add another item., but as my good friend TECHMAN says "Modeling is to relieve stress , not cause it ", it was close this time DJ. 😁

My building took a big slow down whenI got hurt at work, even tho' I retired a few years ago I still take on driving work and moving work until my CDL retires from my pocket in '27 , if I make it. In a fluke accident my glove got caught some metal causing me to drop off the trailer onto the concrete landing on my side in turn breaking 5 ribs on one side, 1 bad gash on the caught finger and deep bruising my knee and collar bone. I've been idle since Aug 29th but a week ago I started back doing what we like, building models. Still a ways to go on this TV showrod. Very little painting to do but there are many chrome and painted parts to be put on plus alot of details. If you can see the seat picture , there are acctually rips in the seatback on the right and exposed springs behind the driver seat. The TV car had mismatched tires but I used what the kit offered. The hood hinges are another story, but Ill let that one rest..😆

Looks cool so far! Where did you get those magnets?
Got them on Ebay, they are hobby magnets. You would be surprised how many different tiny magnet styles there are , I sure was.

This kit is from the late 60s and a $20 price tag 10 years ago I think is a steal.

Got the trailer 99% done, just have hose connections left. The stretch and taillight area caused the bulk of the work and narrowed the axles to install 4 tires per axle vs. the 2 that were meant to go on. None kit items: 12 tires- 6 wheels- added wheel chock and pin puller - deck plate over rear axles , mud flaps, lighting and 3 strips of Evergreen .080 x .500 x 24" for the frame, plus othes sizes for crossmembers and channels. Changes can be seen in the instruction pics vs. the way it is now. Decals are kit. Light weathering on container and chassis .Now I can get back to the tractor.
