Stopped at the one in Niagara Falls, they usually have a decent amount of kits and they had zero and the section was gone .. the one in St.Catharines has a few and some paint thrown underneath in bulk. Looks like once it’s gone that’s it. they only ever had the same 5 kits for the last 10 years though so not missing much. I get most things at sunward hobbies , elm city hobbies or wheels and wings hobbies all in Canada online or in person. also the St.Catharines store went to all self checkouts.. so I don’t even go there for anything anymore

lol, it’s just the free music in the iMovie app, called “high noon” by Patric warren

lol yes “large” they are to large for 1/25 scale is what I’m trying to show here this paint is perfectly in scale for this type of look. ✌️

Finished up the seat, I think I stole it from one of ‘29 or ‘32 ford kits. lol

I was referring to metal flake.. as in show cars and hot rods. A metal flake base that you spray candy colors over.. Not metallic paint

Thanks, yeah my Instagram is @eighty3studios my other hobby is car photography lol, they are photoetch bolt heads from top studio ( 0.6mm ) I superglue them on then use debonder to remove the extra superglue since it’s on a piece of aluminum sheet for the firewall. I used them on the front axle mount too but attached them with future floor wax

lol, I noticed in old photos lots of the early drag cars were painted in purple and pinks.

I’m building the side by side engine version. Painted in silver metal flake with candy pink over top.

Here’s a quick video in the sun, should be even better once I sand and polish it My Movie 23.mov

I’ve discovered this paint recently and I think it’s quite a good in-scale silver metal flake base, Mr.color GX208 heres an example of it with a clear pink over, outside In the sun it sparkles just like the 1/1 stuff

Seems to be no interest in this build so I won’t bother wasting my time posting it.

Other model car forums
JET. replied to ColonelKrypton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There’s a few around but I’ve found this site to be the most active and has the most engagement to stuff you post https://forums.kitmaker.net/c/autos/8 http://www.randyayersmodeling.com/modelingforum/index.php https://intscalemodeller.com/viewforum.php?f=46 I also had instagram but this year in particular my posts have gotten zero views or interactions so I deleted my account there. That was probably the best place to post hobbies too, a shame facebook went and ruined it -
Thanks!, I use Tamiya & Mr.color lacquer paints

Duplicolor is not what it use to be and it’s expensive. I tried a can of that 1k and it doesn’t dry very hard and then the can doesn’t spray or it leaks all over the nozzle.. If your gonna airbrush use like Mr.color gx100 I’ve never had any problems with it and it dries super hard and quickly. Ever since I switched entirely to hobby paints I’ve had zero paint issues and saved tons of money.

Thanks I use Mr.color GX208, I have some nostalgic drag cars and hot rods in the works also with this as the base

Those companies just rebrand existing products with their name, pretty much everything they sell was already available so that paint has already been around under the “gravity color” brand for some time now.

After using many things to scribe lines, xacto blades, the Tamiya engraver tool ( which breaks so ridiculously easy.. ) I found this thing, and 0.2mm is the perfect size for model cars. Hands down the Best hobby tool I bought. https://flex-i-file.com/en-ca/products/holly-engraving-scribing-and-scraping-tools

Thanks everyone for the comments. Thanks wasn’t sure anyone would notice the window trims lol! Thanks!, I just airbrush different shades of the same color for variations, then use tube oil paints for final weathering, any rust is just painted on with craft acrylics. I use Mr.color lacquer paints for everything else
