  1. You guys are making me want to bust out the parts box and get back into building. Thanks agian
  2. I used tube styrene and springs from some ink pens I had laying around.
  3. well I would say its sloppy compared to the chevy. But it works out because it isn't supposed to look pretty.
  4. Thanks everyone! Don't mind this bump, just realized I never replied.
  5. Thanks everyone! I no longer live at that house I took those pictures in or i would pose all of my models in that spot. It worked out pretty well.
  6. Got snowed in today so I decided to take a few more pictures to show more detail of the rear.
  7. Thanks everyone! Yes it is real mud, I used a tooth brush to apply it and to give it a spray pattern. Heres a link the build on Scale Auto. If its a problem posting a link to another forum let me know and I will remove it. Thanks http://cs.scaleautomag.com/sca/modeling_subjects/f/33/t/66661.aspx
  8. Thanks! I might do another one sometime and do something different with the suspension and a slightly different cage design. I need to get ahold of another kit first though.
  9. I'm not sure if I ever posted this here or not but this is a build I did back in 2008. Mods include : 4x4 conversion, cage, front bumper, 4 link front and back, coil overs, fuel cell, brake lines, plumbed engine, and weathering. This is my favorite build that I have done and I try to top it each time. Thanks for looking!
  10. Great detail. What diameter of wire are you using for the hydraulics hoses?
  11. Here is the link for the build thread. I re-used most of the kit parts. Otherwise most of it is .80 styrene rod. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81234
  12. that is going to be cool, I've been lookin at ebay for a ranger kit. I havn't pulled the trigger yet though. How is the quality of the kit?
  13. This took a little longer than expected, but it is complete now. ]
  14. thanks guys! I've finished up everything that I wanted to do but I am still waiting on tires so I will probably add fuel and brake lines. I will weather it more once the tires come in. I added a brush guard to the front, skid plate, and added gas cans and a fire extinguisher. I will probably build a jack and add a winch to the front.
  15. got some more done on this the last few nights. Added some more to the cage I built a fuel cell and added shock mounts to the cage before I painted it. I might add a spare tire mount and a place for some fuel cans. I have not decided yet. Here are the shocks and the rear axle mounted. I still need to make the 3rd link to finish up the suspension.
  16. Worked on this some more today. Like I said "quick" build. I got the rear cage almost finished up, I have to add the shock mounts and figure out where I want the fuel cell. I also got the three link set up for the rear axle figured out, except the last bar and won't know how long to make it until I get the shocks roughly in place.
  17. I originally built this box stock back in 2007. here it is originally I robbed the tires off of it a few years ago for a jeep build. So today I decided i would bring it back out and rebuild it into a trail truck/pre runner. I've got tires and more .080 rod coming in to finish up the cage. This should be a quick build, unless I decide to go crazy on it. here is the stripped chassis and cab. start of the rear cage work the bed sides will be removable
