  1. Nice work so far. I will definitely be following your build progress.
  2. I'm really impressed with your use of rattle can caps to create the wheel tubs. Excellent idea I must store for future use.
  3. Part 2 I finished wiring the distributor and engine. This is all of the engine detailing I am doing on this build. It was a task for these poor eyes and shakey hands, but I got her done. I'm pleased with the outcome. I haven't done this since I was about 10 or 11 years old, when I glued black sewing thread to the distributor and plug locations. Thanks for looking.
  4. Great looking Thunderbolt. Actually it's the best paint/decal job I've seen on one.
  5. Thanks for the tips. I'm going to try several different pre-wired distributors on future projects. I got one in today that is pre-drilled and I added the wires myself. The stock distributor for the 66 Nova is just so small, I ran out of space trying to drill 8 holes around the perimeter. Trial and error, of course, and I need smaller hands. I hope to have the wired distributor installed tomorrow and will upload a picture or two.
  6. Those are some outstanding creations. I'm simply amazed.
  7. Very nice work!
  8. Thanks for the info. Hope it works well for you.
  9. My youngest son has one just like it, without the tank. It works very well. I wish he had the tank. For that price on the compressor and tank, I am tempted to buy one. If I only had the storage space in my small apartment for it when not in use. Hmm, I've got to figure out a place for it. I am curious how durable & sufficient the packing is and whether it can survive the rough handling during shipping. @Monty, please let us know how it is packaged, and its condition upon arrival.
  10. Not too modern at all. I'm wanting to use the mid 80s to late 90s as the general time frame. Not too advanced, you know. Normally aspirated engines with or without nitrous. I'm collecting a bunch of big block engines to use on the various kits if they don't come with one. I've also collected enough high rise twin carb intake manifolds as well. I really like the look of those manifolds and twin 4 bbl Holley Dominator carbs protruding from the engine bay.
  11. Yep, I figured due to the awb of the Eliminator II, I was out of luck. Thanks for checking on those bodies. I was wishfully thinking. The next option is either to cut the wheel tub from the AMT 66 Nova or 67 Chevelle pro street chassis and merge with the chassis on the kits I want to convert to pro street or use a resin pro street deep wheel tub chassis I found on ebay. I'm going to give the resin pro street chassis a try on my next build - AMT 68 Camaro Z/28.
  12. Revell 41 Willys, Revell 67 Nickey Camaro and Revell 68 Mustang GT. They might actually be longer than 105 mm, as I used a ruler and eyeball method. I need to get a digital caliper. Harbor Freight, here I come.
  13. Don't have any of those, unfortunately. However, it may be an excuse to buy another kit!
  14. Thank you very much, Snake! Well, it seems I've got a decision to make. I need to measure some of the bodies I have been thinking about using and see if any are in that range that might fit cleanly or with very minimal stretching. Thanks again.
  15. I'm back into model building after a very long hiatus. My kit building niche is Pro Street, Pro Stock, Pro Mod, drag - street/strip. I am building models as a form of therapy/quality of life enhancement. I have multiple myeloma (blood cancer) and take oral chemo daily. Most days I feel like dung, some days better than others, but it is far better than the alternative. I use model building to keep my mind occupied which in turn helps forget about how bad I feel. This being said to indicate the level of build/finish is not aimed at show quality, but rather functional used looking cars. My first of about 25 kits to build is the AMT 66 Nova Pro Street. I've only got an iphone to take the pics, so quality will not be the best. Part I Here is the engine I have drilled the spark plug holes in preparation for wiring the distributor. Unfortunately, the provided distributor is very small and I doubt I can adequately wire it. I welcome any suggestions, recommendations or tips. I may end up buying a pre-wired distributor, providing I can find a size that will fit without looking too oversized. I've got the body painted but have one area on the left front quarter panel that needs work. Those images will come at a later time. Thanks for looking!
  16. I am hoping someone has this kit and can help me out. I am trying to find out the wheelbase in mm for this kit. I am considering this kit for a future project. I don't care for the altered wheelbase body, but the rest has great potential provided the wheelbase is at least 105 mm. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
  17. I finally signed up after visiting for a few months. I'm a disabled (multiple myeloma - type of blood cancer) senior citizen, retired Navy, with plenty of time to spend on models when I have the energy and focus. I got back into model building after a very long hiatus. I loved building cars as a kid and of course preferred muscle cars and anything that I could convert for the drag strip. Recently, I got interested in watching Street Outlaws but really hate the theatrics et al. Always fast forward through the episodes to the actual races. I like to kitbash and create my own version of cars, so the pro street/pro stock and pro mod styles are my preference. I have recently collected about 25 different kits to build and have started on an AMT 66 Nova Pro Street and an AMT 68 Camaro Z/28 that will also be a pro street. The level of detail will all depend on how I feel and how steady my hands are. Heck, I'm doing it for fun, not for show (competition) so I'm not going to fret over it if I can't get things looking as good as all of the ones I see on this forum. I like this site. Lots of great projects and info.
