  1. Thanks, i wish i could take all the credit but the cab was painted when i got the truck, i redid parts of it and painted the bed.
  2. After finding some instructions online, i discovered the wrecker bed was complete and decided to build the truck as such. Luckily the original builder had started on the bed and painted the beige part first. After carefully removing the old tape adhesive. I retaped the bed, cab, and hood sprayed the black, added the white pinstripes and cleared it.
  3. Got the interior built while i wait for the replacement frame and suspension. Luckily it was complete sans the steering column, so i robbed a replacement one from the parts box
  4. Added some oil/rust stains, oil lines and wiring.
  5. Got the drivetrain painted and built. Had to rob a piece or two out of the parts box. I will add some more detail and dirty it up next
  6. Bought this older peterbilt wrecker off of ebay. It wasnt as complete as i was lead to believe so i had to track down a new frame and suspension. Gonna build this one as a tractor and save the wrecker bed for a different build. I would like to save the paint on the cab and hood and finish the original builders vision to some degree
  7. The bed turned out nice!
  8. I know this will sound weird but i put a toothpick on the end of my tongue and pick up the pieces that way, and use another tooth pick to apply a tiny drop of glue where i want the part to go. The saliva is just sticky enough to pick up and move the parts but not as adhesive as the glue lol
  9. Thank you!
  10. Whats the name of the group,i like to check it out?
  11. I found a bunch from slyvan, they're for train sets.but seeing what people can do with hotwheels and other small scale, they might be a viable option. They seem geared more towards the pre-1970s
  12. Hi i was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on 1/87 scale and if anyone else builds them? Im thinking of making the switch from 1/25 due to space running out and seeing all the cool stuff available in smaller scale we dont have in the big stuff
  13. Got this one wrapped up. Made interior panels for the bunk to match the cabs interior. I sanded off the 5th wheel plate guides so i could shift it back a little bit, shaved down the pass through, and modified the exhaust to allow the sleeper to sit closer to the cab. This is the first time ive done a vehicle to match the box art.
  14. I made new doors panels to match the box art ones. Also made a headliner, visors, and interior bunk panels to match
  15. Got more work done. Added these little plastic hinges to the front mudflaps so they can move when opening the hood.
  16. Thanks! This actually my third DR, these and the autocars are my favorites
  17. Modified the the interior bucket since i opened the doors up, got everything painted and assembled. I tried to mimic the box art color scheme but add a little cb radio i made out of scrap materials.
  18. Had a busy weekend. Got the cab, hood and sleeper painted, ill let them sit for a few days before i put the decals on and clear coat. Chassis is all put together as well.
  19. Chassis almost done. Opened up one of the doors on the sleeper
  20. Got the chassis and components painted. Cut the doors open and hinged them will i wait for parts to dry
  21. Pretty cool idea, i like the short look
