What started off as an experiment is turning into another build. The wife ordered me the cracker box conversion from global trucks for my bday, so I got an astro as a donor. Figured I'd try my hand at chopping done the astro cab since I wasn't going to use it. Ended up turning out better than I thought it would so now I'm gonna build it too and order another astro or titan kit lol.

Got this one wrapped up last night, added tools and a cooler to the bed, just need to gas up and I'm ready to run!

Still more to do but coming along nicely. The color is actually more red but comes out orange in photos

Got the wheels painted and mounted, getting the flares sorted out now

Got the interior done. Added gauges, flocking, turn signal switch, ignition switch(and keys), map, coffee cup, and sunglasses. Also swapped out the shifter for a different one

I need to do a shop truck next for my garage haha

Got the chassis built. Tried to make it more interesting adding fuel and brake lines. Exhaust is comprised of solder, wire connectors, and a parts box muffler. Side exit exhaust to copy a 1:1 truck i found online.added a second fuel tank( was a factory option).

My friend had one in a 62 gmc and they are huge! That's pretty wild, I read they weigh more than a bbc

Thank you! I think an all color mack is an iconic look. The garage was actually a gift from a good friend so I like to use it as my back drop for photos now

Finally wrapped this one up. Pretty much box stock. I did add the McLean decals , shorten the frame, and built a different exhaust stack

Got the motor built with parts from the parts box engine and the kit engine.

Gonna combine the kits 440 with an old revell 440. The kits 440 is really an uninspiring lump of plastic, it's gonna donate its oil pan, transmission and pulley system. The revell 440 is alot more detailed,but it's from the 49 mercury kit. So it has a ford transmission that will have to go

Gonna see if I can do something with this. If the hemi doesn't fit, I've got a few other options. Got a 3d grill to back date it to a 73-75

Got the flaps painted and mounted up

Merry Christmas everyone. Just a quick update, assembling the chassis. Good news all the wheels sit level on the ground!

Had the day off and got some painting done. Frames assembled, just needs to cure now

Definitely alot less chrome than the dm600 kit lol

Making good progress on this one. Took an 1 1/4" out of the frame.

Gonna go single carb hemi. Trucks big enough to haul extra tanks to keep it fed for a while haha
