That's my exact thoughts too, thanks!

Last build of 2024/first build of 2025. So far the plan is to shorten the frame. Haven't decided weather it's going to be a short tandem or a single screw yet.

Thank you! This one definitely would be a tire eater for sure ha

I had a friend who had a truck like this in real life. One day he was pulled over for not having fenders. Told the cop they must've falling off lol

Built this out of leftover parts and building materials. Chevy straight 6 with scratch built turbo kit. Added wiring, fuel lines, dip stick, ect. Turbo header is hand made, the intake is a modified one to accept the 4 barrel carb. Swapped the transmission from a ford v8. Used the ford drop axel, removed the frame mount battery and fuel tank, shortened the torque tube. Scratch built the cowl steering. Other than that it's stock. Interior I used bomber seats from the revell rat rod kit( opened the holes up), ford banjo steering wheel, Added extra gauges. Chopped and channeled the cab. Shortened the bed and channeled to match the cab. Also cut the floor out and replaced with real wood. Added the battery, moon tank, and tool box. All weathered to match the rest of the truck. Grill and headlights are 29 ford, also Added the overflow bottle. Wheels and tires again are just some leftovers. Probably one of my favorite builds. The back ground is a Sinclair gas station a good friend gave me.

I took everyone's advice and channeled the body this morning. Looks good so far, the floor slides into the body so it's probably one of the easiest to learn on

Luckily I already had everything on hand for this build, ebay is a great source though for parts
-
Thank you! It's definitely been one of my funner builds and a good way to try new techniques
-
While the body parts are drying from the first paint color, I started working on the interior. Although you won't be able to see much, I still opened up the holes on bomber seats
-
Did the frame in a rust finish. Wheels are red primer. Motors mounted and test fitted the cab. Knowing where everything else was going to sit allowed me to chop down the bed.

2024 Cannonball Run "Resto-mod" Official Finished Builds

Forgot to upload my car to the finished list. Exterior: Opened and hinged the trunk, cowl hood. Painted the car at work and can't remember the name of the paint color it's been so long lol. Other than that it's stock. Interior: Upgraded racing seats for long distance comfort. Upgraded the radio to a touch screen. Rear seat delete. Clean and simple. Drivetrain: Stroker sbf, wired and detailed. Trickflow intake, aftermarket valve covers(iceman collections). Custom rear mount(sts) turbo system. Custom exhaust. Chassis: went with 19" pony wheels, large brembo disk brakes all 4 corners. Painted the suspension parts to look like some of the performance suspension kits available at mustang specialty sites. Extras: large fuel cell in opened trunk. Relocated the battery to the trunk. Overall a fun build that I got to try new things,(building the turbo/ exhaust system, opening the trunk, ect). Honestly my best paint job,(real automotive paint and clear coat) lol. Can't wait to see the theme for next year, thanks again everyone! -

Getting frame mocked up and figuring wheels and tires. Thinking of running the 34 cab instead. It's a little wider and fits the frame better. I'll probably try my hand at a chop and possibly a channel job
-
Yes, I also use heat shrink when make my own distributors
-
Thank you! I was getting pretty full on extra parts and figured this was a good way to clear some out
-
Engine is built. Scratch built header, fuel line, distributor wires, turbo intake and cap, oil dip stick, ect. Also added a holley carb and made the intake removable to show the detail. Lightly weathered the engine and trans with weathering chalk

Cut up a junk manifold to modify the stovebolts to accept a 4 barrel carb. Built the turbo header out of soldering wire and a Cummins manifold. Swapped the generator for an alternator. Cut the flathead motor mounts and installed the aftermarket.
-
Figured out how to make the stovebolt work. Swapped the transmission from the y block to the six and just had to trim a little from the exhaust tunnel on the frame to clear the starter. The stovebolt doesn't have molded in exhaust and a slimmer profile allowing me to build my own turbo header. Now I've got to figure out motor mounts. I've got these 3d ones I might use while not technically correct, they do look cool
-
That's pretty cool! Yeah everything on this will be from leftovers, trying to knock down some of my excess stock
-
Torque tube would be the easy part, I'd have modify the frame rails I think though, still undecided though lol. Yeah I'm gonna chop the bed down and possibly Bob the rear of the frame. Alot of it comes down to which motor, the six would mean the cab will sit further back.
