Woke up early and decided to run some errands. Nothing earth shattering, found a couple cans of primer at Ollie's & Harbor Freight finally restocked the miniature toolboxes. I'll use it for my airbrush & airbrush supplies storage. I got these two Gaahleri airbrushes last week. I've been using a Gaahleri Mobius with good success, thought I'd get a couple others to try.

If I had a shot everytime he said "jump in" I'd be fitshafed right now. LOL. In all seriousness, looks like my wallet is safe yet again!

Cross post to the diecast section, but I'm pleased as punch this Danbury Mint '55 Ford arrived today that I got for a good price. It will go well with the rest of my 55-56 Ford stuff.

I only have a facebook account for Marketplace. While I haven't bought many kits from there, I have bought a good number of other things. Set of Starrett Bore gauges and 2 Starrett 3" micrometers for $25/everything, Y-block Ford 57-up style 4barrel intake for $75, a medium sized box of C1 Corvette parts worth about $400 for $50, the deals are out there it just takes some time to look. I usually give it a quick look see while having my morning coffee.

While in Daytona I hit up my favorite sub shop. Larry's Subs in nearby Ormond Beach. Been eating here for close to 30 years & never a bad meal.

I've got the same issue as everyone else. I just used my old imgur account to post pics using the BB code to work around the issue.

My sole purchase from the Spring Daytona Turkey Run show. '55 Ford Victoria promo. The right fender has some warpage, but all in all not bad at all. I think it's fixable.

Good to see another Floridian! Whereabouts you located? I'm in Cocoa Beach.

Every workout I came up with to block ads on youtube was a short term fix. I finally just went the Premium route which I suspect is their motive to begin with. I don't have cable, or a TV for that matter but still like to watch the occasional thing on youtube. I use Youtube more like a jukebox than anything.

Will R2 going to put any models this month?
RSchnell replied to slusher's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wouldn't buy one simply because the subject matter doesn't interest me at all. I suspect I'm not the only one! -
29 Ford Model A Hot Rod Pick up and Chopper
RSchnell replied to James2's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The 1:1 Model A Pickups sat high in the rear when there was no load in the bed. Couple that with the smaller tires on the kit it's easy to have that big gap. The green one is mine and while not that evident in the photo, it does sit high in the rear with no load. -
Leno's Bill / Emissions Exemptions !
RSchnell replied to 1972coronet's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I did this very thing in Florida years ago. I was financially involved in a heavy truck export business. We had fleet coverage insurance and several dealer license plates. At the time I had 9 running & driving cars. Only 3 had registration in my name. Everything else I used a dealer tag. Never had a problem! -
The only Xacto blades I use are the Z-series, I haven't had good luck with their standard #11 blades the past few years. I switched over to Excel blades and am completely satisfied with those. I also use a scalpel for certain things, a hold over from my days as an embalmer.

They look like remnants of the old Revell Highway Pioneer Model T kits. The 2nd pic is cutdown center door sedan. The first pic is what's left of a Torpedo Runabout.

What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
RSchnell replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Always on the lookout for stuff to add to my Ford memorabilia collection. Ran across this piece of literature from 1955 that I've never seen before. Being a '55-56 Ford guy, had to have it. The cover photo is awesome! I'd like to have one of those styling models in my collection. -
Ollie's strike again
RSchnell replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Ollie's in Lakeland, FL used to get a good assortment of kits, but I haven't been to that since I moved to the coast. The Merritt Island, FL that I frequent usually has a good assortment, I may stop by Saturday when I go to the grocery store & see if they have anything else out laid out. Not that I need anymore kits. Similar to parts for old 1:1 Fords, you better get it while you can because less & less stuff is being reproduced for the stuff I have interest in. Model A's, '32 Ford, 55-56 Fords. -
Normally Saturday is my sleep in day, but for some reason I woke up early. Figured might as well go have breakfast and hit up a couple "antique shops" that I haven't been to in a while. Glad I did! The Arcade Chevrolet will go nicely in my small but growing cast iron car collection. The Hubley Vic & Model A pickup kit came from the same store. There was a Hobby Lobby about 6 blocks away- why not pop in there too. It is 40% off week after all. As I was checking the cashier at HL says "looks like you got your work cut out there" I told her "you don't know the half of it, I've got more kits that what y'all have on the shelf back there"

I would pay an obscene price to find one of those '55 Ford Victorias that wasn't all warped up. Thanks for posting this, I enjoy seeing stuff like this!

Thanks for the heads up! I shall be getting a couple of these, esp the Super Dexta as we had one that we used to work the groves. Put a lot of time on it as a kid along with the NAA that we used to do irrigation lines.

Same here! Between my dad & grandfather there were always a couple Hubley kits laying around waiting to be built. I figure I'll stash enough kits sufficient for my needs as I have a feeling we will never see any of the Hubley/Gabriel/JLE kits issued again. The JLE issues showed signs of worn molds with all the flash they had.
