  1. Great looking build! I love 917s and the Hippie Livery cars are extra special IMHO. I have a die cast of one, but it doesn't hold a candle to that kit. I have the book pictured above and the pictures show the paint to be more blue, but with a touch of purple to it. Hiro Boy has a Zero Paint version of that color that looks like a lot of the pictures I've seen.
  2. Beautiful work! A 1000% improvement over the kit body.
  3. Great job- a nice example that a stock build can turn out a great model.
  4. Beautiful job. Perfect color choice and paint job.
  5. Very nice build! I love the seats- how did you do that pattern?
  6. Great build. I am a huge fan of Can Am and the Shadow was one of the more unique and coolest ever made.
  7. Welcome- I am new myself. It's fun to discuss shared interests.
  8. Very nice. I always had a fondness for this cool exhibition car.
  9. When I was a young boy, one of my passions was modeling (stop me if you've heard this?). Model cars was my main thing, but I was also into airplanes and anything to do with the NASA space programs. I have been wanting to get back into the hobby for a number of years and have actually been purchasing model kits, building supplies and books about modeling for a while. I worked at a very high stress job on Wall Street and just never found the time to get going. A few years ago I got laid off and decided to retire at 59 and move from NYC to my recently purchased lake house in Connecticut. My first priority was some major renovations to my house, but now that those are done (at least the major ones) I have decided to finally get started with modeling. My first priority was to acquire kits that I built and loved as a kid- mainly custom show rods and drag racing cars (mainly Funny Cars) from the 60s and 70s. I also have some jet fighter and rocket models, but am focusing on the cars at first. I look forward to learning a lot from this forum and participating in discussions about our shared passion! Regards, Ray
