Finished this one. Added exhaust pipes coming out of muffler, made an "axis hinge" for the louvers from AWG30 wrapping wire. About 0.2 inch from the ends of the piece of wire, I carefully cut the insulation but left the 2 insulation pieces on, so they can turn on the wire core. Glued the long center section of the wire to the body, and the 2 "loose" insulation sections to the louver panel. This way I can lift it to see the engine cover, which is also a photo printed on thick photo paper (just like the louver panel). Was a nice experiment, but due to paint not coming out very good, this will end up in the back row of the display cabinet.? Just noticed I forgot to paint the front indicator lights. Thanks for looking. -

Painted the top today. Might not repaint the blue part, although it did not turn out very good. Anyway, this will not be entered in any model contest, so might just go with it.? This is Vallejo Model Air flat paint, and plan is to shoot Zero Paints clear over it. -

Very nice! Reminds me when I was building a '70 Challenger T/A and 3 years (!) into the WIP I realized there are no wipers in the kit.☺️ Making and adding those and then fighting the hood not closing all the way was the most memorable part of the build. -

Thank you. The top of the glovebox area needed to be filled in after I removed the time machinery from there, plus the air vent outlets, radio, and HVAC controls needed to be scratchbuilt for the center console, per photo above. -

Thank you. Decals cooperated nicely. The hood decal overlaps to the cowl panel and fender tops, prepare for that. The rear fenders, trunk top and rear panel need to be painted white and the edge of that white area needs to be aligned with the green stripe decals, so that requires some careful planning (sorry if I'm explainig the obvious here). The #12 decals I found too tall, so I sectioned them. -

Thanks. So my 2 favorite "non-muscle" cars are probably the DMC-12 and the Jeep Cherokee XJ. (I own an XJ in 1:1 scale.) Neither is available in 1:24-1:25 scale. There's no justice in the world right?? -

Thank you. I haven't been taking many pictures during modeling for a while now. Had to concentrate on not dropping parts and not cutting fingers.?? Here is a few shots though. Thanks for checking in. -

It sure is!!! Not just the missing parts, but the molded-on cables all over the fenders... I was debating to clean the "belt" rubber strip off and re-do that as a separate piece, as the ends (at either side of all 4 fender lips) needed to be sculpted out of the removed cable material. -
This is from the Aoshima BTTF (part 1) kit. Conversion done using lots of cursing,? paper parts, printing and cutout of online pictures of the engine cover and louvers. The chassis is mainly from a soda can. Wheels in this kit can turned upwards, well... that needed to be fixed. Some steering will be possible. Paintjob did not come out very good but got tired of repainting it now. It is a maybe 3:2 mix of Tamiya bare metal silver and titan gold.

Thank you gents. Thought I would add a few photos. I "kind of" wired the motor: nowadays I cheat and don't drill holes, just glue everything on... this time I used material for plug wires that I used on my very first build 11 years ago: wrist watch O-rings...? they nicely simulate the way real plug wires bend smoothly and do not get kinked. I also cut up the steering damper (1st time I see this part on a model). Drilled the whole length and added some silver wire, so the front wheels will be steerable A LITTLE. The steering knuckles can pivot on the upper arms, but are supposed to be glued to the lower arms. I will not glue them, although I haven't figured out how exactly I will attach them instead. Thinking about making a small round plate with a pin in the middle, and a hoke for rhe pin in the bottom of the knuckle. The half shafts also go through the knuckles, which prevents full steering by the way. And this is what the interior looks like. I forgot to show a picture of the pedal console I made. Thanks for looking. -

Attached steering wheel to dash, and made a console at bottom of dash for the pedals as I wasn't able to figure out which "notch" they were supposed to go in. Started cleaning up the wheels... ...but when I popped the second one on the wheel back, it snapped. I thought I could use AMT's L60-15s, which I have in the stash, but the opening in those is a bit too large. The only tires I found around that fit are tires from the '70 Impala kit, which means that Impala will probably end up as a lowrider ? Weathered the chassis+interior bucket. And just noticed the battery is missing so I'm trying to copy a battery from another kit using household silicone as a mold and maybe "heat gun glue". Or if that fails, which is likely, I'll scratchbuild one. Thanks for looking. -

Thank you. I was just watching some of the '83-ish NASCAR races on youtube, took a few screenshots of pit stops. Also, if you watch the 1971(?) movie Le Mans with Steve McQueen, there are some nice close up shots of the cars. Youtube has clips. Being a longer race, not NASCAR-level dirt of course, but gave me the idea to add some dirt/grime here as well. -

Very nice progress there. If you need the same script, just in a different spot, you could "foil copy" the script - not on this particular build I mean. I did it once. I used aluminum foil, not BMF, not self-adhesive kind. Burnished it on the script, did not cut around the outline but carefully lifted the foil, then filled it from behind with epoxy (less glue is better than more). Shaved off the script from body (in my case the script went back to its original spot, but the area needed major repair and the script was in the way.) After the glue dried, I cut the script around and glued it in place with a little more epoxy. -
Well worth the effort?

Started this kit that I bought years ago off ebay. My first Jo-Han kit. Nice fine detail here and there. Being a 1974 kit, I can't help but wonder how they were able to make a tool that casts such fine detail like there is on the dash, or e.g. the fender emblem script. The color scheme will be white on baby blue ? After clean-up, started out by gluing the inner fenders into the body - which was fun... The internal details of the motor (piston bores, lifters etc) tempted me to build it without gluing together... but then I just went on with it like it was any plain jane motor ? and yes it has Cadillac molded on the chrome valve covers.
