What I am affraid off, is that the European price will be over 100 euro's. Which is steep and in Tamiya territory, I don't even think the Tamiya Mini hits that. But it is purely speculation, based on their prices for the 1/12 Fiat racers, Let's hope I am wrong. @lysleder; The Renault is basic, but it does build into a decent model. -

Wait, wut? I was already thinking of the use of a new Fiat 500 mold, since there are already a few on the market (Tamiya, Gunze), but the Fiat 500 will be a 1:12 car! I find that exciting :-) I hope it will be a little bit milder priced than the Mefistole and that other 1/12 Fiat. -
Just got my eyes on the new Italeri releases for 2017, mostly reissues, but with one new mold: 3652 Renault 5 Alpine (Esci reissue) 3708 VW 1303s Beetle (already in program) 3709 VW 1303s Beetle Convertible (already in program) 4703 Fiat 500F (NEW MOLD) 3653 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider 1600 (reissue) 3654 Lancia Stratos (reissue) 3655 Ford Escort MKII (Esci reissue) Next to some reissued trucks, there is also a new truck 3927 Scania S730 Highline 4x2

There is also a 3D printing smoother, it is kind of a gel that you brush on the 3d printed part and it makes it smooth, From what I understood is that you need to light sand it before painting. -

From a different topic I tried Sketchup, after watching the intro video's, I decided to download and start using sketchup. Even before installation I discovered that the free program doesn't really give you much. Yes, you can draw something, but after that, you can't do anything with it. Let alone print it. -
This beast is finally done, even though I got it done within 2 months or so, except for the paintjob, it went together well and there is such a nice base for adding details. I didn't with this one, as it was a review model. But my fingers itched for improving and adding detail. Even if you build it box-stock, it will end in a nice model. It looks pretty good and capture the car well. The only fit issue I encountered was that the body sat too low or the engine too high. So I had to get the body about 2mm higher, in order to get the hood to shut. And the chrome is bad, if one wants to do it properly, it has to be redone. But the new decalsheet really makes it a better model, so much detail in the new decalsheet. The kit wheels are horrible to see, so I made my own Hallibrands and they look soooo much better on this car, Oh, and the scale is 1/8...

Haha Thanks John! Yeah, it was a good test of patience, what a work. But the good thing about 1k paint, is that is better to polish than 2k. And finally finished polishing! Looks just so much better and if I wanted to; I could've done a better job. I went for the safe way and didn't push it too far. Started to chrome the car, the rearwindow done The windscreen done And finally the whole car done, fortunately not too much chrome for the '65 All the parts for the headlights, before And after, I painted the outer ring of the clear part black, gives the illusion of a sealing rubber I dryfitted the windscreen and noticed a lot of play, with such a big clear part, it is almost unavoidable that it will not go on clean and in case of using clear-glue, it might not hold the glass in place. So I thought off using strong, thin double sided tape. I used it as much as I could Got rid of the protection tape and presto: a firm held in place clear glass part! Starting to look like something The exhaust tips are way to thick, I cut some plastic off the inside of the part and that makes it look more realistic And we are getting somewhere; the car is sitting on it's own wheels now and it does look awesome! The only issue is that the body is sitting too low or the engine too high. The hood doesn't want to shut no more. and some shots of the rear end:

@heinz74; That is what I said 10 years ago, but I had to do the Corvette with the rattlecans. Unfortunately. Hate them. I had not real issues with the paints crazing or reacting, it's just that it is hard to near impossible to get a nice shiny clear coat. The body was prepped good and was straight, up till the clearcoat. Basecoat and primer were perfect, the clearcoat was horrible. But I kind off sorted it out and now the huge task of polishing....ugh! This is where I am:

Over here in Europe, especially the Northern part, is not a good climate for cars. Cold, humid , it doesn't help protecting the cars from the elements. If you leave a car for 20-30 years outside in Texas to sit, it can be salvaged. If a car sits 10-15 years outside over here, it is basically not salvable no more. Unless you want to redo all the bodywork. I had mij R5Gtturbo outside for 2-3 years and I could notice the car was going downhill. So I got it in storage in 2006 and it's ever been in storage since....
