  1. I just saw this model. I know it's an old post, but I just had to comment. It looks great! The paintwork is really great. The chrome work is beautiful. I used to see these when I was a kid, many years ago. I remember thinking that they looked futuristic back then. Thanks for the memories! Keep building please!!
  2. Thanks a lot! Looks good. Just to be sure, that is half round styrene rod?
  3. I'm new to this hobby, but I can still see that this is an incredible build. Absolutely perfect. Congratulations!
  4. I am building a Tamiya Citroen 2cv 1/24th scale model. The front windshield and the back window are both flat rectangles that have a radius on the 4 corners. Looking at the 2cv models that I have seen on the model car magazine forum website, builders have surrounded these windows with what appear to be perfect black 'rubber' gaskets. I am asking how was this accomplished?? I've tried a few ways, but none are even close to what I've seen here. HELP!
  5. This is just a great build. Really difficult to tell it isn't a full size car. Details are amazing. Photography is the best I've seen. I'm building a Tamiya 2cv at present and I'd like to ask your advise about two details of your build. How did you do the black window surrounds? They are fantastic! Also the metal strip just below the rear windshield- how did you do it? Thanks for posting your work. It inspires!
  6. Great build! I love it! I have to ask your advise about a few things. I'm working on the Tamiya 2cv at present. How did you get the black surrounds on the windows is number one? Also, how did you get the chrome/metal strip under the rear windshield? The engine looks absolutely great. Thanks.
  7. This is my first build in about 45 years! After seeing some Land Rover builds here, I realize I have a lot to learn about the current state of the hobby. All your builds are great! I really enjoyed seeing them. I haven't gotten into weathering yet, but I'm going to after seeing these. I also have a lot to learn about photographing my builds. I thought the kit itself was really good- Revell Germany's kit. I'll include some photos of mine. Thanks again!
  8. Hi David- I just spent some time looking over your diorama of the Hooper Coachworks. I am completely blown away by the project as a whole and by the details. What an amazing piece of work. The building is beautiful, the street details and the cobblestone bordering the roadway, the London Bus and the taxi are all so authentic looking! All I can say is WOW! I'm just getting back into this hobby and learning so much as I proceed. It is really a privilege to view your work! As I continue to look over the photos more details become apparent. Thank you!!
  9. Thanks for the comments David. I really appreciate hearing from you, as it appears that you have a lot more experience with these kits than I do. I did build one complete kit from the two that I bought. Then I thought maybe I should build the second kit. I actually had all the parts except one. In the second kit I bought, they gave me two of the same side bonnet! If you look at the car head on, the piece I have sits on the right side. So the one I'm missing is the passenger side bonnet. The kit is left hand drive. Unfortunately I have no idea at all as to where I would find another passenger side bonnet. I guess I could try to fabricate one but it will be pretty difficult for me. I've thought about using RTV rubber and making a mold of the proper side. I have to think about any other way to fabricate the side I need. We'll see. If you have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your comments.
  10. I purchased a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud kit by Entex and I was pretty disappointed at the quality of some of the moldings. The body had so many flow defects that it took much work to bring it up to standard. I wanted to build an exact replica of the actual car. I bought another one from Ebay, thinking it would be better than the first. It was worse. I also planned to build a 6 cylinder engine because the one piece V8 was just horrible. I understand that the kit was marketed by many companies over the years. I just wonder why one of those companies didn't try to improve the kit before putting it on the market again. I know it would have cost money to make the improvements, but come on! We, as modelers are hoping for high quality. In this case the quality was obviously of secondary importance. Oh well. I learned my lesson. I think in the future I'll stick to the brands that have never disappointed me. I hope all your builds go well. It really is a great hobby!
  11. Hi Mike- I also ordered directly from Morgan. I'm having a tough time contacting them. Your post is from 2019, so I assume it has been resolved. I'm currently trying to contact Kris Morgan through this forum. Let's see what happens.
