  1. And my wife said I could never make a Pinto look cool! Top of engine, flames, and side pipes are from 68 Vette kit. Narrowed the rear end, trimmed the bumpers to get them as close to the body as possible while still keeping them on the car and of course added the drag slicks.

    68 Vette

The one that (re)started it all. Found this barely started little gem hidden away in a closet in my youngest son’s room after he left for the USAF. Decided to try my hand at recapturing my youth and just kept finding more and more cars I wanted to build. Not sure what it is about young modelers that always seems to make them want to install the windshield glass before doing anything else!?! But as you can see my son was no exception. As expected when I attempted to pull it out it broke. Since I built this before I knew about MCM Forum, I did not know you could buy clear sheets of plastic so I just built it without a windshield. Model is box stock save the fact I lowered it, narrowed rear end and put drag slicks on the back.

Pretty certain none of my models are ever going to be mistaken for real cars. Nevertheless, I thought it only fair to contribute if I’m going to lurk. Just got back into the hobby after a couple of decades away taking care of home and family. However, when my youngest flew the coop, I found a barely started 68 Vette in the back of his closet and decided to do something constructive with my new found free time. Truth is I think I enjoy it now more than I did as a kid and having the whole world (via the Internet) to explore and learn from has only made the experience that much better. Away, I go…
