  1. Maybe SoCal style with a surfboard or 2? what do you think? I found this pushbar/bumper, possibly off of a cobra (again, from parts box) I dont think I am gonna use it unless I paint it like a 60's show rod, what do you think? Unknown tail light, what do you think? I also have 1 large one cut at a similar angle I am thinking about using.
  2. Here is my first-ever attempt at a traditional hotrod. It is a model T sedan with another first for me, a significant chop. All other parts except a small piece of the frame are of unknown origin, because I bought a box of parts off the internet for 5 bucks. I made my own large "Z" in the rear of the frame, and made custom motor mounts and a suicide mount for the front axle, another parts box find. The rear is a parts box banjo, and the wide whites are perfect, maybe from a 50 ford kit? The flattie will probably end up with 3 deuces, as I am just fabbing and mocking up as of now. This is also my first attmept at taking pics of my work and small objects. Excuse the quality of some or all of the pics. I will learn. Custom frame suicide mount Banjo Flathead with custom lakes pipes, made from the corners of a parts tree that just seemed to have the right angles on them.... Ride height Thats all for now kids, what do ya think so far? I plan to paint it a flat olive-drab green, or a metallic lime-gold with lots of flake for the 60's show rod look and if I use the pushbar. I also have a mall moon tank that fits on the suicide mount well, but dunno if I will use it. I hope you like my 1st attmept at what is going to be mnay many more trad-styled hot rods...... Thanks, RUDY
  3. 1990 was the final year for the ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL 15x7 turbine wheels. Thank god. Yes, they were used on the 1990 Green exterior/white top/interior "7 up cars", but then they went away for good. http://www.mustanggt.org/gtchange.htm 1991-1993 Cars had 16"pony's, 1992 "special edition" LX convertibles had Red exterior/white top/interiors and white pony wheels. 1993 "limited edition" LX convertibles were yellow exterior, black interior/black top with chrome pony's. Other than reguar coupes (one of which I have), these were my favorite. Rudy Oh, and I like the model too! I agree about the titanium ground effects. A friend had a 1:1 Gt (hardtop) with these colors. Looks good. EDIT: Did the kit come with that fox version of the 1995 Cobra R hood?
  4. Here are a couple of crappy cell-phone pics of a 1965 Falcon AWB Funny Car I built as a gift for my uncle who has one of the same color. I wanted to use bare metal foil to do the side trip, and other trim on the car, but have never used any. I plan to get some and practice, then when I get good, I told him I would do the trim for him. The only real modification is that I wired the engine, and instead of calling it the "Iowa Shaker". I named it the "unadilla shaker" as a joke to my uncle about the village he lives in with a poulation of like 30 people....... Rudy
  5. Hello all, I just got my first airbrush setup and compressor from my girlfriend for xmas. It was a total suprise. She always gets me cool stuff. It consists of a Testors (Aztek) "Delux Professional" airbrush set, model # A4709 like this one: http://www.testors.com/product/137119/A470...in_Airbrush_Set And a testor's blue mini compressor model# 50204 like this one: http://www.testors.com/product/137109/5020...rush_Compressor Since I have never airbrushed before, I dont have a large quanity of thinner (which seems to be the most frequently used item) or any paints unless the small square glass bottles of testors qualify. ( that you brush-paint with) Can these be used in the airbrush if sufficiently thinned? Maybe some paint that is ready to be sprayed would be best to get me going. I plan on buying an airbrush cleaning station like this: http://www.testors.com/product/136959/9315...leaning_Station and maybe an inline moisture trap also. Maybe someone could provide a short shopping list to help me get going? I am in a wheelchair and hate having to get in and out of the car and go to the store ten times........ Thanks alot guys and gals! Rudy
  6. Gonna grab my GF and have her read this!!!! She just DOES NOT get it that guys need time to themselves...... And doesnt realize that she needs time off with her GF's too....... But I may get in trouble when she reads the part about taking over the house with your modeling supplies....... OOPs, I may have taken over the dining room table and adjacent area LOL......... But she has destroyed my once clean house and turned it into a giant slob-fest......... I am a neat person and cant take much more..... I am gonna order one of those "pods" and fill it with her ###### and not tell her where I sent it!!! Rudy
  7. Sweet! That is one MEAN H1! Rudy
  8. Here is a picture of my friend Keith Engling's (SKinny Kid) worlds fastest Olds for motivation......... I know its not the same year but it is still cool. Anxious to see how she turns out. I am just fifnishing up a Polar Lights "Gas Rhonda" 69 mustang funnycar...... I just have to paint the body and apply the decals...... Rudy
  9. Wow, that is one sweet T. If it wasnt for the bottles of paint in the background, I was convinced it was a 1:8th scale rod! Awesome detail! Rudy
  10. WOW. Speachless. Never neen a fan of the 60's birds, but this one is to die for. Look like it came right out of fords concept department in 1959......... WOW........ Does this guy build any 1:1 cars? Rudy
  11. Talk about mile-deep paint!!! I wish I could get one to look that good. Killer stance! i give it an A+!! Rudy
  12. WOW. I love this car!!!! The toilet seat is so original!!! The straigt 8 is cool as ever too. I love to see odball engines in 1:1 cars and models. If I see one more ford hotrod with a Small Block Chevy in it I am going to puke!!! Looks excellent. How long did it take you to get good at weathering? Rudy

    64 Mercury Comet

Looks great!!! I have been wanting to get one of these... I have always loved the 64 comets..... How hard was it to do the BMF for the trim that runs the length of the car? I am building a 65 falcon right now for my uncle for an Xmas present, and want to do the side trim on it, but havent worked with BMF yet.... Thanks, Rudy

    coupster

I also really like the flip front end. Looks factory. I think the lowering of the top into the body (or dropping the lip or whatever you want to call it) is also a great idea. That phantom 3 window is awesome too...... Keep up the good work fellas Rudy
  15. Looks excellent! I also had a 68 in high school, with a 327/2 speed powerglide!!! Low and go! Got caught drag racing by my dad..... Not good. That car rocked, I loved the crank-out vent windows. It would seat 8 skinny high school kids comfortably! Keep up the good work!! Rudy
  16. I wish I could score a car that is that mint to start with for a hotrod project! (Read HOT Rod, not STREET Rod) I would feel bad cutting it up! Anybody can restore a car, it takes a real man to cut one up!! Rudy
  17. I dont know if a kit exists, but it looks like you could make one out of a 28-31 ford 5 window coupw with a little filling of the extra windows and widening of the doors............. Good Luck! Rudy
  18. I found this slideshow on another site, it is kinda slow, but worht the wait! It has the best weathering and junk-car builds I have ever seen! I dont know who's work it is, and it doesnt say, but someone here may know. The first one is kinda gruesome with a guy who went thru the windshield of a car (model) but just suffer thru it to see some excellent work!! Enjoy. 19. There is a very similar 1:1 car that runs around here, in primer also, made into a panel also, but it is a chevy II. It has a blown big block, and is heavily chopped, with about 10" windows! Ther resemblance is shocking! Your model looks just like the real car i see around here. I also say no on the chop, as it looks perfect as it is, and the 1:1 car is so heavily chopped it looks goofy. Rudy
  20. OUCH! Yeah, it never fails, they bite! Rudy
  21. Came out nice!! Looking good. Looks like my hobby spot with 50 models all over the place! Rudy
  22. Congrats sir! I think most newborns are kinda ugly (all babys are cute, is ahem, BS) but he is a cute lil feller!
  23. Very sorry to hear of your health issues, but glad to hear you made it through! Hang in there man, it cant get any worse, it can only get better. You have seen rock bottom. As have I. I was paralyzed in a motorclycle accident 5 1/2 years ago by a hit and run driver. Everybody gets theirs. I am a firm believer in Karma. You reep what you sow. My dad always said do onto others and you would want them to do onto you. It sucks that your models got destroyed but it gives you something to do while you recover! Right after my 3 month stay at the University of Michigan hospital, I built 7 cars in a row after about a 10 year hiatus. I do most of my buiding in the wintertime, or when it is too hot to be outside. Other than that, I am outside or playing with the 1:1 at the dragstrip. I wish you a full recovery! As far as the perpetrator goes, remember, 3 can keep a secret if 2 are dead! A friend will help you move, but a GOOD friend will help you move a body! Let me know if I need to bring a shovel! Rudy
  24. This looks like a weathered version of a truck I saw recently in RebelRods magazine. Except the one in the mag had a roof. They said they did the same kind of thing, no measuring, they cut the truck cab in 24 pieces and welded it back to gether ALOT smaller..... Looks very similar! I like it! I absolutely love the pallet! Where did you find it> Or did you just make it yourself? Keep up the good work, Rudy
  25. I dig the Van! And the wheels are PERFECT! Too small my rearend! I have not seen any vans as of late. Who makes a current van kit? I am in a wheelchair and would like to build an older ford or dodge flat-front van with custom wheelchair lift! (model and 1:1) Keep up the good work! Rudy
