  4. I just tried my hand at using putty for the first time. I was filling the gaps betwen the front fascia and rear fascia/bumper on my 69' Mustang "Gas Rhonda" funny car. The only hobby shop I know of nearby is a sparsely stocked one. I bought some Squadron brand white putty. I now see that it says "fast drying" on it as I look at the tube. I was waondering what brand you guys use, where you get it, rough cost, etc. I was gonna ask why it dried so ###### fast but that question has been answered. It was a little too thick for what I was trying to do, so therefore I had to use a bit much to get the gaps filled, now I have ben sanding ALOT to get the extra off. What kind of spreader do you use? I just used an old razor blade, then got fed up with that and used my finger. Any tricks for sanding near body lines and tight inside corners? Such as between the molded in headlight (funny car body) and upper fender "Eybrow"? I know with 1:1 body filler you can mix it thinner, or thicker, to dry fast, or to take a while. etc. I may just end up getting some bondo. Any tips would be very helpful and greatly appreciated!!! Thank You, -Rudy
  5. Ok thank you very much guys. If affected, I'll let ya know. Rudy
  6. Every oxygen tank I have ever seen was green, and the Aceteleyne was usually pink, sometimes pale yellow. Rudy
  7. Dammit. I left my new Paint (2 small aerosol cans, 2 small brush-on bottles)in my Van overnight in the 15 degree weather like a moron. Do you think it is ruined, or will it be ok after it comes back up to temperature? Thanks for any help, Rudy
  8. Looks Great! I am building a 26 T sedan delivery that I chopped a bunch. Great motivation, thanks! Rudy
  9. Looks good, I like it. Kind of a throwback to the original "Bullit" mustang, although it was a 68. Cool. James
  10. I have also been wondering what glue the pros use, I am a pretty amateur modeler myself and am not happy with the Testor's stuff in the orange tube. Super glue? I know it sometimes leaves a white residue on stuff. The testors stuff just take too ###### long to dry for alot of jobs. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry if I hijacked your post, I have also been wondering about this. Thanks, Rudy
  11. I have some questions about taking pictures of my cars and projects, and wonder what others do. First, do you have a dedicated place for taking the pics, or do you just tkae them on the table? What do you use for lighting? I just got a new digital camera for x-mas (early, YAY!) and I am still trying to figure out how to use it, settings, etc. I am in a wheelchair so I cant take very good overhead shots and I am trying to find a good height to do it from. I want to take some pics of my past and current projects for you guys. Looking at some of the work on here I am a REAL AMATUER.(sp?) I built alot about 15 yrs ago, and built about 10 more 4 years ago and try to do a couple in the winter time as my options for stuff to do here in the great white north are limited...... Any help greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Rudy
  12. Congrats and WELCOME HOME BROTHER! Sua Sponte RLTW! Rudy
  13. Hello all, My name is Rudy, I live in Howell MI, I am 26 and have been building on and off (mostly off) since about 8ish. I was paralyzed in a hit and run motorcycle accident 4 years ago, after which I got back into modeling because i've always enjoyed it and my options for stuff to do can be pretty limited at times, especially in the winter! I just fifnshed a 1:1 87 Mustang Notchback, with a supercharged 2003 Mustang Cobra 4.6L engine, C4 Trans, 10 point cage (with swing out door bars so I can get in and out!) Yada yada it's fast..... I went 9:50s off the trailer at Milan Dragway this past summer. ANyone who is local, me and my car were featured in the detroit free press on the thursday before the woodward dreamcruise, it was kinda neat. I will post a few pics of it. Looking forward to making some friends on here, and I see that there is a downriver model club. I was looking at a webpage from a guy by the name of Pat Redmond and I saw the level of the cars there, they looked great. I also noticed in one of the pics there wasnt a single young guy there! Maybe they will let me sit-in on one of their meetings so I can see how it is done. Working on my first chopped car right now, a 26 Ford Model T sedan, and also a "Gas Rhonda" 69-70 Mustang funny car. thanks for having me, Rudy Pics of my REAL car...... I still have to put the interior back in it, but it is coLLLLD in the garage and I am sick. No ###### room in a 1 car garage either..... I hate this hood, I never even drove it once with it on, I have a new smaller hood....... [ And I have about 10,000 photos of every step in between.......
