MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. If I were to line them up I’d have to stand so far back they would look like ants
  2. The finished interior and I cut the front sub frame from the dart donor chassis and attached it to the shortened amt road runner chassis
  3. This is built from the Moebius 1965 Awb Plymouth kit I did however use the excellent Keystone wheels found in the AMT 1940 Ford kit . The paint is Tamyia white and Italian red the decals came from SMP . Until next time thanks for looking , Mike
  4. This weekend’s update I got the old johan interior tub fitted to the amt 68 road runner donor chassis .The fire wall is a leftover part from the Revell hemi dart . The body is an old jimmy flintstone resin .
  5. Now that’s a really cool idea . I to have many projects that will take a eternity to push over the finish line
  6. Is it possible that the 6 cylinder’s had the 6 bar hub caps and the v-8’s had the 8 bar hub caps ?
  7. I can guarantee that no one is coming to my house to count the bars on the hub caps of a model car
  8. Yeha just gota love a Shaggin wagon
  9. Gathering parts and digging in
  10. Ok I’m going to put my 2 cents worth in on this one . Does the kit have flaws of course as any kit does. None of us are going to drive it down the road as John’s custom shows with some carful assembly ,a little imagination , and some basic skills it will look great on the shelf . I can say as a kid in the mid 80’s I just wanted to build one I really didn’t care if some of the proportions were a little off . I can recall being really disappointed that the 80’s Ertl reissue didn’t include the chopped top . Ok enough of that I really think that round 2 should consider making a vintage HOT WHEELS version with some really cool NEW GASSER BOX ART similar to the new MALCO GASSER BOX ART or maybe even a twist on the old flying colors art work of the mid 70’s possibly in a tin collector box . In my humble opinion this would make great business sense especially when they already have a HOT WHEELS licensing . It would be relatively easy to throw in a set of Crager S/S wheels red line slicks , red line front tires, a hood scoop, and a set of decals . Vintage HOT WHEELS have a huge collector appeal to two complete different groups of people the HOT WHEELS collector, and the model builder .I think a lot of people here would agree.
  11. I’ve only ever built one of these anglias and found it very fussy to assemble as are most of these early 60’s era Revell kits . I think you made a good choice on using the blown olds engine the paint colors on it give it a just right right patina. The collector swap on the headers also came out really good . Also who knew how good the black steel wheels and grey primer would look together I guess you did . Maybe add a Spaulding flame thrower decal on the lower front fender just a thought
  12. It looks great so far . My favorite mustang 2 funny is the blue max
  13. I’m right with you John a convertible kit doesn’t do me any good . I have decals to build a few of the wagons and coupes . I guess we’ll just have to sit tight I’m really hopeful that we’ll get a 62 ford Galaxie
  14. This really came out sweet I plan to start building this in the future as I’ve been accumulating parts . What color green paint did you use? From what I can tell by reference photos it appears to be a dark metallic green .
