  1. Me too, that’s how we built every race car I’ve owned. When the tracks I raced at started allowing tube cars, stubbed cars and offset chassis’s in the limited late models, hobby stocks and even street stockers it was time for me to bow out.
  2. I wonder if the ‘55 Powell pick up will have the pull out fishing rod storage? Probably not, but it would be cool. Great truck show with Atomic City’s new jon boat kit. Powell also made a sport wagon version of the truck.
  3. I’m enjoying what you’re doing. A Chevelle sure made for a great looking race car.
  4. I’m interested in the Shelby but I’ve blown my June model budget already. Ordered the Atomic City jon boat kit and preordered two of Wes’s dirt late model kits.
  5. Mark, I agree with you about the roll cages in that kit and also the Lennie Pond era Chevelle kits. They are entirely to thick and my pet peeve, a cage that doesn’t go to the roof!
  6. As always Mark, your attention to detail and realism is second to none. I’m really enjoying this as Monte Carlo’s (up to 1977) are one of my favorite 1:1 cars. Made for a great looking race car too!
  7. I can see picking up an El Camino.
  8. You are correct, they were big race cars! I ran a 1977 Monte Carlo in the limited sportsman (asphalt) class. Wheelbase was 116”. Now it had some racing parts and was cheated up a little, but it was the best handling car I ever drove.
  9. When I got back into the hobby I decided to purchase all of the old kits that I enjoyed building no matter the cost within reason. That goal was accomplished with the help of a couple of friends. Between those kits and some newer ones I’ve got enough models to do me for two or three years. That said, if Round 2, Revell, Salvino’s, etc come out with something I want, I’ll buy it no matter the tariff situation. Same with my bass fishing addiction. Life is to short.
  10. That’s doggone cool right there!
  11. I agree with @Kevinjr26, that stance screams old school Winston Cup car. Makes me miss how great NASCAR racing used to be. I really like everything that you’ve done. Great work!
  12. Great comment Dave Van!
  13. I’m just not going to stress over these tariffs. 70+ countries are lining up to renegotiate their deals, communist China will fall in line or be on the outside looking in. just like my reply on a bass fishing forum, that’s my other vice. I’ve got enough lures, soft plastics, terminal tackle, rods and reels to last me the rest of my life. At the rate that I build model kits, got enough in the stash to last a couple of years. If I need to replace something, or something new comes out that I want, I’ll get it.
  14. Heck, guys in Europe got theirs before I got mine! A while back I was trying to track my grandson’s birthday gift. Our local postmaster did some research and found that the package was hung up in Memphis. All of that to say that he told me that the Memphis, Little Rock and a couple of other areas are a mess as far as the mail moving through. I’m a huge supporter of the USPS, but something has to give. Stepping down from my soapbox now.
  15. I received mine in Crossett, AR today! I hope that my fellow Arkansan, @rrb124@sbcglobal.net received his too.
  16. Still nothing in Crossett, AR. My bass fishing magazines arrived today, just like clockwork.
  17. That’s a great looking replica of one of RC’s race cars’s! A lot of folks don’t remember that Richard Childress was an independent owner/driver. Is that a Salvino’s kit?
  18. Great post and picture @SpookerThere are plenty of pictures out there to back up using the kit tires. If anyone watches MN Max YouTube videos there are pics there as well. But as always, to each his own.
  19. Still waiting in Crossett, AR 🤞
  20. That’s one good looking Fairlane! I like the shade of green that you chose. Looks great with the gold.
  21. Waiting for my copy in Crossett, AR too.
  22. I’m really enjoying your modified builds @bobss396
