  1. I started building models when I was around eight years old. Built until I was in my mid 30's. Always been into fishing, mainly largemouth and smallmouth bass and trout. I was also building and racing my own 1:1 stock cars, plus work and kids. Something had to give so I gave up models and eventually gave up racing. I retired at 53 in 2013 from my career, law enforcement and fished as much as I could. Two years ago, my mother in law bought a AMT Modified Stocker kit, '64 Fairlane because she remembered me building them while my wife and I were dating. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Now split my time between model building and fishing. Retirement is a good thing!
  2. This is a great looking rig! Like @TarheelRick asked, what paint did you use? That red jumps off the screen. Your camper is amazing, did you model it off of a real one?
  3. Beautiful, excellent work!
  4. Man, I love the color you put on this rig!
  5. Those cars look great, well done. My favorite era in drag racing.
  6. Like I've told you @bobss396, that Pinto looks great. Thank you for posting it, and for our conversation concerning the modifications. Steve
  7. It's looking great @bobss396!
  8. Great job! I've got a set of those decals, always liked that car.
  9. Those are some great looking wheels, as is everything else you've done. I especially like what you did with the roll cage. Growing up and living in the south pretty much my whole life, I was never exposed to a lot of modified racing, especially on asphalt. That said, I've always thought that MPC missed the mark on the cages in this particular series. I'm enjoying your build.
  10. That is one great looking Fairlane. I grabbed a Fairlane body and Monogram T-bird chassis out of my stash today. It's like they were meant to go together.
  11. Looking really good!
  12. It's looking really good!
  13. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with this. You're right, it does have the look.
  14. Thanks Keef! Born and raised in Knoxville, lived in Nashville for 15 years. Retired in 2013, moved to Arkansas. GBO, definitely a VFL ??
  15. I remember back in the 80's when some of the fiberglass companies were making Corvette bodies for late model dirt cars. A guy from Bruce, MS (Jerry Inman #D-7) ran one for a season or two. Your's is an excellent representation of that era.
  16. Excellent work, well done!
  17. I saw that Stapleton YouTube video too, it was really informative. I enjoy his channel. Looking forward to watching over your shoulder on this build. I always liked the independent guys. Afraid that is an era that is gone in the NASCAR Cup Series.
  18. Thank you for building and posting this model. Well done! This is my favorite era in dirt racing, asphalt too.
  19. Looking good and welcome back to the hobby. Those Bud Moore owned Ford's always looked so good. I took a 30+ year hiatus myself. Been back around two years.
  20. This replica of your brother in laws car is amazing. Your detailing, everything is a work of art. In real life I'm a Steve H too!
  21. Well done! One of the best I've seen. Your barn, the Mustang and Gremlin all look real. Your weathering is spot on. Thank you for showing it.
  22. Beautiful paint and the decals look great!
  23. Thanks for the help Dan. Right now I'm operating off of only my phone. I am going to get a new lap top at some point this year. Hopefully then I can figure it all out.
  24. Thank you and I don't disagree about the picture size. I don't know how to reduce picture sizes from the gallery on my phone.
  25. Great looking cars! I'm a big Red Farmer fan, Minions too!
