  1. This will be a fun one to watch. I've seen pictures of Edsel's racing in vintage late model classes.
  2. You're probably like me, I'm the only Vols fan that I know of here. They're all LSU and AR fans. There is one Tide fan, he's my neighbor. I bet there's not too many LSU fans in middle TN. I retired from the state of TN, lived in Nashville for 14 years.
  3. Wow, I love it! Your diorama and the garage you used as inspiration. Love the wall art too. President Ronald Reagan, John Wayne, the German Shepherd, the Veteran art (I'm an Army Veteran), all of it. Well done.
  4. Since I retired, pretty much hit the "easy button" every morning when I get up!
  5. @TransAmMike, You would be 100% correct! I'm a native knoxvillian and my blood runs orange. Even though I live in southeast Arkansas, I'm a diehard VFL (Vol for Life). Steve
  6. It looks really good to me. I love the color and the straight six. Like other's have already mentioned, from looking at it, it really doesn't show the trouble you had.
  7. Beautiful build, thanks for posting. I miss the 70's, great music, great cars, custom vans, all of it!
  8. Beautiful, simply a beautiful build.
  9. This is some amazing work! Thanks for posting.
  10. This is such a a great build. Thanks @bobss396
  11. That is a wonderful story, and a beautiful replica of the car. Thank you for posting this.
  12. I love them, kinda got plans iny head. Probably should pull the trigger one of these days. Your painting and attention to detail are really something.
  13. WOW, @vincen47 your Ford Aero Max rig looks great too. You have a talent for toter homes!
  14. In a word.......... WOW!!! I love the paint, outstanding flames.
  15. Looks great to me! I'm with @Jim N, I've botched that paint scheme before too. I've always been a Neil Bonnett, and an "Alabama Gang" fan. Thank you for posting this.
  16. I thank all of you for your kind words and for giving my model a look. I really appreciate it. Steve
  17. Hey @bobss396, You gonna do a WIP on the '56 Ford figure eight car?
  18. This one is looking great! Love these old cars from the past, especially with a straight six. I let my buddy drive my old street stock in the figure eight class at Beech Bend Park in Bowling Green, KY one night. No way I would ever run in that class! He was running around 5th in the feature. Next thing I knew, my car was in mid air landing on my transmission sponsor's car knocking him (sponsor) out. Never again did I let my car be driven by someone else, nor in a figure eight race. Thankfully no one was injured and the car finished the season. Good times
  19. @Dave Van, Is this closer to a 3/4 shot? Thank you for letting me know what the term means. Seems silly that I didn't know. @Sledsel, Thank you for the compliment. I guess the hesitation comes from skills lost, that hopefully are coming back. After seeing some of the beautiful work posted here, just hesitant to post. I must say, everyone, including you have been most kind and I appreciate it.
  20. I had several pictures of Cougar's, including Dave Dion's, that I used as inspiration. When the model was finished, I deleted them. This is the only picture that I failed to delete for some reason. Even had a pic of it head on into the inside wall at some speedway! No idea who this is, or where they raced at. For some reason this one really spoke to me. I'll get a 3/4 shot when I get home. I'm at our new (to us) house measuring for a remodel. Yippee!
  21. Not sure what a 3/4 shot is? Here's the front and rear end's Originally thought about cutting out the entire headlight area (if that makes sense) and replacing with a flat piece of styrene, decided to go this route.
  22. Hesitant to post this as you guys have some amazing skills and I'm just getting back into kit building after a 30+ year hiatus. Anyway, my friend @Duane Garner encouraged me to post it, so here she is. It's an MPC '73 Cougar body (that Duane gifted me) on a slightly modified AMT Banjo Matthews chassis. The numbers came from a JNJ Roy Payne Hyde Tools sheet, the rest are from my decal sack. I'm an old school racing geek, love them all but partial to anything under the blue oval umbrella. I really need to publicly thank Duane for all of his help and encouragement since I've returned to the hobby. What started as a business relationship has turned into a friendship .
  23. Beautiful, great work.
