  1. Everyone can go to Tom Birky's shorttrackmodels.com. Tom has added several different nascar sections, plus unlike the people at Ayer's Tom cares. Screw fb.
  2. In a word, WOW! That is a great looking truck. The choice of paint colors is excellent.
  3. This is going to be a great looking model when you're finished. The color, the wheels and the stance scream HOT ROD!
  4. Great looking Thunderbird, like @bbowser stated, "Your work on the stance paid off." That thing looks racey just sitting there
  5. I agree with @David G., absolutely beautiful.

    '32 Vic

Great looking '32! Can the wire form be purchased at Hobby Lobby? I've learned the lesson your talking about while lowering Monogram nascar kits. What's the old saying, "for every action there is an equal reaction." Never fails.
  7. Those old enduros were something else. Never raced in one, but attended several to cheer on my buddies. I'll comment on a build update as soon as there is one.
  8. I remember the old Atomic Speedway in East TN having big car counts back in the 70's and 80's. They'd run a few heat races, a consultation (non qualifiers) feature and a feature. Those were the days! Sadly those days, along with Atomic Speedway, are gone. I raced on asphalt in middle TN, KY and North AL in the mid 80's and early 90's. We had good car counts back then, but nothing like the old days at Atomic.
  9. @Michael F referenced @Johnny Canuck great photo. Even in the background there's a Mustang running those big tires. Great picture!
  10. You're very welcome! The new Round 2 release looks better out of the box. I was talking about the original release of the kit in the 70's. I was in my teens back then. I'm going to get one ordered tomorrow, Auto World has a 20% off sale for Memorial Day.
  11. I really like what you're doing with this kit. I remember building the kit when it first came out and not being happy with it. Just seemed to look toy like to me. Believe that I'll order another one. Thank you for posting this.
  12. First time that I've seen this. All I can say is that this is one incredible build. Simply amazing, such detail.
  13. In your earlier pictures of the first set of springs, I thought that they were fine. In the new comparison picture, I see exactly where you were coming from. Mark, I'm really enjoying this build.
  14. Seeing the 1:1, you've done a tremendous job!
  15. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! In addition to being a Ford blue oval junkie, I love everything Land Rover, especially old Defenders! Thank you for posting this. While not the subject of your build, this guy was parked in front of where I was eating Sunday brunch a few years ago. I about fell out of my chair.
  16. Thank you @Sonorandog, @TransAmMike, @slusher and @sflam123 for looking and for your kind comments. sflam123, I'm from east TN originally. There was one guy that had a Cougar bodied dirt car that I remember, did really well with it. In addition to the Midwest, I believe they were pretty popular in the New England area as referenced by @Dave Van photos of Dave Dion's car. While I've never been to the area, I think a few other racers up there had Cougar bodies too. I always liked them because they were different. Like was mentioned earlier, I love anything blue oval related but got tired of always seeing mustangs.
  17. I remember that kit being on the store shelves. I never purchased one as I was mainly into street cars, circle track and trucks. I can see now that I missed out.
  18. That is one great looking Dodge Demon. Well done!
  19. Great looking modified. I really like the simplicity of the paint job. Two colors, clean lines and clear numbers and sponsor decals. I'm assuming that the 1:1 is the same. Well done @Wakefan77!
  20. I will enjoy this one @bobss396. Thank you for sharing your work from the start of a project for folks like me that are returning to the hobby to see.
  21. Mark, like I've told you before, this is an amazing build. Your attention to detail and your scratch building skills are unbelievable!
  22. Well done, beautiful hearse. My youngest son and I used to talk about buying an older used 1:1 hearse to build into a hot rod.
  23. Beautiful model, that flame red really jumps off of the screen! I was a Tim Richmond fan, great driver gone too soon. I remember him coming to the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway while he was on his hiatus from racing, before he quit driving. I think it was the night prior to the All American 400. Supposedly someone "stole the pace car" and was running crazy fast laps around the 5/8 mile track. For those that don't know, there's a 1/4 mile track inside the big track. Anyway, Metro Nashville P.D. gave chase to no avail. The pace car stopped at the finish line and out pops Tim Richmond. The crowd went nuts.
