Petty Racing , Grand Prix Car was painted with all acrylics , Vallejo gray primer , white and blue mix to achieve Petty blue and red , followed by Quickshine floor shine Original decals with the kit were old and kept tearing , could not find identical replacement ,order these Slixx Decals from Mikes Decals, this is a different scheme from the boxed model , but representative of an older color scheme Thanks for looking

Just finished Bobby Allison 1984 Buick Daytona 500 car , Testor gloss white enamel and Powerslide decals Car looks good with combination of white and red , very happy with results Thanks for looking

Model is finished , overall pretty easy built no major issues

Decals have been applied , need to install windshield and hood pins ,and will be ready for chassis

chassis is finished painted with Krylon black gloss added seat bets and engine detail and body has been primed and painted Testors white gloss , waiting 3 days for drying and will wet sand then apply decals

Using the Eduard # 00110 6x6 hex mesh , this seems to be close to scale

Opened up front grill for PE screen , did sub assembly on chassis and motor , to get ready for paint

Here is latest update , de chromed parts , ground down wheel backs to open up slots

I am building three of the major cars in the1984 Daytona 500 , Yarborough , Allison ,Earnhardt Here is the first :Cale Yarborough 1984 Monte Carlo Daytona Winner This is build from the original Monogram kit , painted with acrylics , new decals are Powerslide bought from Mikes Decals Added fabric seat belts , otherwise built box stock

Bought this as a no box kit on Ebay for about 12 dollars Chassis sprayed with Testors gray primer and red topcoat Body sprayed with Testors gloss black enamel Added Slixx decals picked at model show in Houston and tire decals from Mike's Decals I think rear end maybe too high Thanks for looking

Just finished this kit : Nice kit of a classic from the 60's Color is Testors Dark Blue Metallic enamal over Testors Flat Black enamal Rims are from Foward Resin and tire decals from Fireball Modelworks

Just got back into modeling 1 yr ago , have been building military models , here is second car i have built this year. I cutout the grill area and disc brake vents and replaced with pe mesh , which cannot be seen in photos. Had i little trouble with the decals and gloss coat. I will have to work on finishing coats.
