"Not too B-A-D"... As my career Army Godfather used say. Especially considering that I got it for free. Just showed up in the mail one afternoon in the early 90's. I had been asking to buy one from a huge collector named "Phil in Peoria" for six or seven years. He insisted that I find him an original "Ala Kart" for which he would take in trade for his mint unbuilt SMP '61 I never saw the Ala Kart in any of the listings that I subscribed to, so I assume after time he either found one himself or felt sorry for me and just sent this. No note, nothing... I don't know what I am going to do about the grill! Parts of the facia broke off with it, and they have to be saved or replaced and reattached before painting and then there is the one missing headlight bezel. I suppose will have to shelve the project until I can locate another junker.

Every time that the 4dr '71 Polara popped up on eBay, which was several times a few years back, they caused a bidding war that I couldn't compete in... I never came close to getting one of them. Hopefully Modellrob will add them to the "Buy It Now" list of current offerings.

I used several different MacFarlane Minis to create this amalgamation of another fictional pre-dynasty player.

Converted MacFarlane Emmitt Smith Wearing number 48 because their are forty eight avenues in the Sunset District the ancestral home of the San Francisco Forty Niners at old Kezar Stadium... The neighborhood that I grew up in... My neighborhood.

I converted a MacFarlane 3 Inch Rickey Williams to a 1974 Eagle. I recently found out that the 1980's-1990's Philadelphia Eagles won 10 out of 12 games against Lawrence Taylor & "Code Blue" with a 8 or 9 game win streak! I just wanted to build something for them to say THANKS

I have started a 1979 in black on black. Finished the interior and even have "Guido & Guidette" figurines ready to ride. But I decided to finish this '77 first. I restored it, dropped it to make it a mild custom. I kept the Cerulean blue exterior, and used Model Masters USSR Flanker Blue for the landau roof. I swapped the interior of a '76 Eldorado that I lightly detailed after spraying it in Rustoleum 2X Ice Grey, added a period correct local car club plaque (Low Creations of San Francisco) from Mike Nagatani of 3D Scale Parts, all three mirrors from the Revell Cadillac Lowrider kit, rear license plate from the historic California set from Ken Schultz's 3 Inches And Under, and also from the Jo-Han '76 Eldorado the Jennstar510 wheel set ups. And last but not least, in tribute to all the great Jewish boxers of the past the star of David superimposed on the front plate is a nail art decal from Todd of Moon Sugar Decals. I call it "The NABF Champ's '77" An homage to the champion fighters in the 50's, 60's and 70's that loved their big American "boats" just need to get some custom made miniature stickers, a Carter/Mondale '76 roundel and a Jerry Brown For California bumper sticker.

I saw a 3-D printed figurine in a familiar pose to any varsity athlete, and got to work.

I scored an All American Models and want to use it for a period diorama. The fireman, cat and kittens are finished and waiting. I'll use one of the many, many lightbars from the Lindberg Dodge Charger kit, and Chimneyville gold decals for the unit designation and I can't remember the name of the business that makes several different types of fire department, police and forestry emblems, but I will make sure to name it if and when I finish the diorama.

Are they still in business and producing these? All this reminiscing about 70's customs has my ambitions in 4X4.

No... I can kinda remember what it looked like though. I don't go on Facebook, never have and probably never will, but I see that Verducci's family has posted a "photo album" for Frank. Maybe there's a pic in existence and it's on there. The LWB van was white with one married scarlet & gold stripe as a "beltline" Gold over scarlet if I remember right. The stripe went all the way around and dipped beneath the custom big window on at least the loadside. It had the old two bar facemask helmet on the spare tire cover which was white too. I don't remember if it had any "49ers" or "Forty Niners" scripts on the van anywhere. If I made one it would have some. All I remember on the interior is that it had the standard "tailgater" design, which has the rear couch seat at the very back mounted on a riser with two swivel captain's chairs lower in front of it and the table with drink holders just in front of the couch and between the captain's chairs. Big television (19 inch?) right behind the driver's captain's chair (passenger seat also a captain's chair) and a small refrigerator either under the television or next to it. I don't remember the interior color but I think it was Ford tan.

Ever since I saw local legend and car dealer Frank Verducci of Serramonte Ford of Colma/ Daly City in late 1976 selling that brand new '77 custom Forty Niner Ford van on television I have always wanted it. Or at least go to a tailgate party in it to eat and watch the pregame show out in the lot before going inside to watch the warm ups. I would really like to build one in miniature. Candlestick is gone, the Forty Niners are gone, and as far as that van, I can't even find a pic of it.

I would like to see someone make a transkit package for both the Ford and Chevrolet vans so we could build long wheel base customs or 15 passenger versions.

Got me one! (thanks to PH's patience) As I mentioned to Paul; I am going with Raven Black w/Woodgrain, and a 1st Cav crossed sabres decal and insignia on the tailgate glass and a trailer hitch bumper.

I tried my early skills building a cottage cast 1949 Ford Station Wagon (Robert Antonucci of San Bernardino) WAY back in 1985. A rare scale model, then and now. Bob cast them with the simulated wooden frame so all that was needed was to paint the frame and either paint or install veneer for the panels. I dry brushed the woodgrain and clear coated with semi gloss. It's all finished and sitting in my stash. I'll dig it out and snap some pics...one day. I wanted to see what ideas anyone had about crafting the wooden frame by hand. That seems to harder to me than painting realistic woodgrain.
