  1. I strongly disagree that it is not as fancy as a Bluebird or Soarer.
  2. I mark all of my models. But only with my name and the year I built/restored it. I write it on the inside of the bootlid.
  3. Speak for yourself. I have only ever been on one side of this.
  4. Snatched this AMT '59 builder off the bay not too long ago for surprisingly little money: I paid about 20 Dollars for it. They are not too uncommon, so this may be your best bet if you don't like the Monogram 58, like I do.
  5. If that kind of stuff makes you ill, then never ever go near an English Banger Racing track. Among MANY other classics, I saw a James Young bodied Bentley and a Jaguar XK 150 being smashed to bits. And yes, that's an Alvis TA 21 getting blitzed by the Bentley.
  6. It must be getting close to 40 years now. I probably should start learning how to do it eventually.

  8. A friend helps you move. A good friend helps you move a body.
  9. It's been a while, but I think I nicely overcame my cold plastic turkey. and the King of the haul: All those kits wre bought in a model shop in a little village in Lancashire last Sunday.
  10. Boyd frequently mentioned Buttera being one of his biggest mentors and influences.
  11. I never found it easier to reply to a thread. My dream model kit? I have quite a few - all kits I don't own yet.
  12. John Buttera passed away March 02 2008, five days after Boyd Coddington. His death was so overshadowed by Boyd's that hardly anybody took notice. I was rather appalled by that fact.
  13. The Modelhaus makes some in resin.
  14. Can I please have a box of chromed sparks with it? And an aluminium magnet to attach it to the cylinder head skin?
  15. Heller sponsored a Paris - Dakar 11CV: ESCI sponsored a Fiat 131 which was campaigned in the Italian rally championship in the early Eighties.
  16. I toyed with the idea of altering a Doyusha Honda 1300S. I bet our friends from Finland could actually do it. The real car is right up with a BMW 02 or Alfa Giulia performance-wise. The 'Sprint' version is actually faster than both. But contrary to them, it never got their cult-status, hence I'm afraid it will always be ignored by the model industry.
  17. It's a Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL.
  18. That Lark is just uber-kewl. My next favourite is that orange coupe. What is it with me and 'bakers lately?
  19. I have collected car chases and crashes from movies and TV shows on video for 30+ years. As a result, I have ca. 70 hours of solid crashing without any boring stuff spoling them. Makes superb entertainment.
  20. They just don't make car chase movies like H. B. Halicki did anymore.
  21. I can't remember. It was either this: or this: But I well remember my third one, which was this:
  22. I'll never eat again. Ever.
  23. Unfortunately 'Junkman' is very often taken already, so I have to come up with a different one. I then usually use my 'real' name, which I don't use in 'normal' life - Baron von Zach. Yes, I am the 17th Baron von Zach.
