You mean side markers? Welcome to the MPC world of strangeness. The front ones, although present, are incorrectly shaped, so it's a lose/lose situation. I wouldn't care about it, the model is going to be a real stunner anyway.

Woah! But, but, but... the wheels MUST look toy like and they MUSTN'T look less toy like, because Tom Daniel.

While the '64 Chevy of d00m is in the soup, I decided to ruin another kit. Sink marks were addressed (gosh, I hate them): Paint was painted: Some interior work was done: You get the idea.

The can was unused and is now binned. A new one is on its way and the body is in the soup.

Is it only me, or are those shady characters in the box art delightfully louche? I mean, especially the couple to the far left seems to be in intense negotiations.

Leave well enough alone?

That's why I have hardly any finshed models. I always give them away. -
Whats In the Box Citroen DS19 Kit Review

Now that would be a major bummer. Could you please keep us updated regarding Ebbro's response? -

^^ This. Especially when they are as good as the new DoH Charger snap kit. I really like those Revell schnapps fast plus kits, too. Their '57 Chevy is IMO the best of the bunch when it comes to overall shape. Just add colour, your preferred wheels, and don't worry about true to scale throttle return springs. -
Darts, Valiants, Falcons?

Yeah, I wonder what happened to those tools. -
What did you see on the road today?

Should be easy enough. See if you can find a rear-ended Chrysler at the junkyard and rob it of its front clip. -

I'm usually not the envious type, but that thing has a lot of wantage attached to it. -
Yeah, I do hope so, too, thanks. It wasn't exactly easy to obtain another can in this shade. After rummaging all the motor factors in town, I had to resort to order one online. Too bad the soup will remove all the prepwork, i.e. filler etc. This thing has quite a few sink marks.

Oh, an OMGMGBGTBYMG! It's been a while since I last saw one of those Mopar wagons. They all seem to have disappeared by now. This is a mod you saw often on those Chryslers here: Not sure whether it ever fooled someone. -
The can was upside down for several days, shaken vigorously, heated, and shaken vigorously again, like I do with all my spray cans. I know the tricks of the trade. That's not metalflake you see, it's the primer still showing through. The paint came out in spots and dollops, it didn't even cover everything. When I tried it on a scrap piece beforehand, it appeared to be alright. Anyway, it's in the soup now.

Even if they do, they rather waste styrene on such dismal tat as the Dog Catcher. Imagine they would reissue everything that has four doors or is a wagon. Don't they realise, that we would kick each others heads in to get to those? -
Yeah, rub it in. What it looks like I'm not going to say on this forum, because bannerisation imminent.

How about a 1960 Comet? I'd be happy enough if someone would whack some styrene into a 55 year old mould and let me pay for it with my hard earned. But that's just me, I guess. -
He once told me that people walk up to him and thank him for a nice childhood. Man, what an unsung hero he is. What I said about him regarding details or realism is only half the truth though. Few people know, that Mr Daniel is an avid railway fan and when it comes to railways, he is a rivet counter par excellence.

Oh no! Shocker.

So, did some more prep work and primerisation, then shot the first coats of paint. That went well, alright. Bloody spray can spat some orange peel in the wrong colour, thanks for nothing. Let's see whether I can rectify it, or it's off into the soup. Why does this kind of stuff only happen to me all the time? Aaaaarg!
-
You know what? That's exactly how I want my kits to be to this day! Sod all this detail nonsense you never see anyway. I might build maybe another handful of those models with realistic brake pipes in my life, if that many. I leave that to John Teresi, he is so much better at that than me anyway. For me, it's primarily about shapes and colours. Must dig up my T'rantula one of these days... Besides, I am friendly with Tom Daniel and he is a gentleman, and a scholar. And he doesn't give a flying monkey about details or realism.
