  1. They are among the very few cars my father, a railway enthusiast, whatever that is, also really likes. I had one when I was a lad and the world was a saner place. I succumbed to rising monetary value like a bloody speculator, though. My father shook his wise head. Why is one so dumb when one is young?
  2. Green wheels you say. I shall ponder this. Black interiors are grim. I ripped the black vinyl interior out of my R16, drove to France and got me this: And now look:
  3. I really should photograph this in daylight. The paint is amazing!
  4. Hey, thanks! Please show us your Whiteboxes. In the meantime, I continue with #51, a Renault 12 Gordini. #52, a Chrysler 180. #53 was this Citroen 2CV van. #54, a Peugeot 403. #55, Renault Floride. #56, Citroen CX. #57, a Peugeot 305 I skipped, but #58, a Simca Versailles, is here. #59 was this Renault 5. #60 was this very, very early Citroen DS 19. All the pieces to build such an early example are included in the Ebbro kit, but not mentioned on the instruction sheet.
  5. I'm not sure whether I have the heart to sell them. But looking at what they command, phew!
  6. I was toying with the idea of changing the interior colour. Green, ay?
  7. You made a black interior white?
  8. Guys, close your eyes for a moment. And now imagine what the box art for that Porker would have looked like. Do you also see the "Wild Drag Version" on the box sides, with lots of Iron Crosses and a turbo Corvair?
  9. A quid is one Pound Sterling, which will probably be something like USD 0.02 from 1st November onward.
  10. Once I keeled over, they'll all be three quid a toss, you'll see.
  11. Not having these is impossible if you grew up where I grew up. Let me explain. I grew up in Munich and throughout the Seventies the Bayerischer Rundfunk reran the series repeatedly in the early afternoons. Contrary to the usual habit of dubbing everything in German, the series was broadcasted in original language with subtitles. Our English teacher urged us to watch it when we come home from school. I'd say there is nobody of my generation in the State of Bavaria who doesn't know the Munsters, the cars, George Barris, and a few words in English.
  12. I got the black edition. Didn't like the whitewalls, so I turned the tyres around. Plans for the future include painting the wheels black.
  13. Amazing work. I'm looking forward to how you make the flares. I really like how the sport was a lot less padded in those days.
  14. The stuff some of you guys come up with...
  15. You don't say! I own a kit that costs more than eight Dollars?
  16. However, to contribute something merely semi-useless to this thread, this is my '68 builder, which hitherto resists every method known to man and beast alike to remove the remaining paint. I own it for the better part of three decades now, but these were never cheap and never will be.
  17. I've been living long enough in this country that I don't spend over six Pounds for a kit that isn't a faithful replica of the real thing!
  18. That is pretty close to what I see in my imagination, too. Mine is green.
  19. #41 was a Simca Marly. #42, a Saab 96 V4. #43, a Citroen Dyane, I skipped again, because I have it from Leo Models. But #44 just was a must have - a Renault Estafette van with the high roof! #45 a BMW 2002, was skipped because the Welly is better, but #46 was duly acquired. So was #47, a Renault Fregate. #48 was this French Gremlin, a Peugeot 104 ZS. #49, a Renault Alpine A310 #50 was this Peugeot 504. Yes, the Welly has existed for a good few years, but it's a late version, while this one is an early one.
  20. Mopars. Don't. Have. Kelsey. Wheels. Although, the (non-Kelsey) wires on the Maisto Chrysler are indeed nice. Bburago used a plethora of generic wire wheels on various stuff. If anything from them has suitable ones, that would be a cheap source indeed.
  21. You just can't win here or there.
