That is indeed a prickly predicament. An option could be to scratch build another. Or, you could check online if anyone is selling a parts tree with that specific part. The build is looking good, particularly the engine.

Hello all! I'm just checking in to see how everyone's builds are going. If you have any updates, by all means post them as I'm sure we'd all like to see them! I'll be posting some updates soon of the actual model as well. For now, though, I'm posting an in-progress model of a Bridgestone RAP rim in 15x7.5. The 1:1 wheel is aluminum, but made to look like a steel wheel.

Thank you for your comments! As I researched Huracans for the build, I found several that had matching calipers and interiors; which seemed like a good way of tying the exterior and interior colors together for a unified look.

I revised the Watanabe wheels with thinner spokes, added lug nuts and a valve stem. The wheel is wrapped in a Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS tire.

After a lot of trial-and-error, I've finally completed the RECARO LS seat. This was my first attempt at modeling a seat, so it's not perfect, but it should get the job done. I'll probably "tweak" it more as the build continues.

Thank you! I did reshape the front fenders and smooth the transition on rear fenders. The front was just sanded down from convex to concave to transition into the doors. It seems that the body was a bit warped as the sides did not seat on the sides of the chassis as the body was bowed out. I glued the sills to the chassis which corrected that, but the rear bumper was not able to perfectly fit the rear. When I tried to fit it, the passenger side bowed-out again and unglued from the chassis; so, I went with the lesser of the two issues and regaled the sill.

Aoshima Lamborghini LP 610-4 After a two-month built, the Huracan is complete. A nice kit, but with tricky final assembly mostly due to very small mounting pins and glue surfaces and some body warpage. The Huracan was built mainly box-stock with the addition of some wiring and plumbing on the engine and seatbelts on the interior. The body is painted in Tamiya Silver Leaf overcoated in Tamiya clear. The interior is Sky Blue and black. The blue is carried onto the exterior via the blue brake calipers. Interestingly, the wheels were pre-painted gloss black. The engine bay cladding was my first attempt at forged carbon fiber. It's a base coat of black with German Grey sponged over it. Paint: Tamiya primer Body: TS-30 Silver Leaf and TS-13 Clear Chassis: Tamiya black, aluminum, and custom tan Engine: Tamiya blacks and various metal-colors from both Tamiya and Vallejo Exterior, Other: Tamiya Sky Blue and black Interior: Tamiya Sky Blue, black, aluminum, and gunmetal Additions Aftermarket: Detail master wiring seatbelt latches, various craft wires, embossing powder (for carpet) Scratch-built: Seatbelts and buckles, various engine details Thanks for looking!

I've finally begun my RX3 while I wait to complete my current build of Aoshima's Huracan. The RX3 kit is a curbside with not many parts, in particular, chassis parts. So, I'm using this build as an opportunity to better my 3D modeling and printing skills. The picture below is a 3D model of the RS Watanabe R-Type that I'm currently working on. It's nearly complete with some additional detail/adjustments to be made and, of course, the tire needs modeling as well. The size is 16x8.

I did a little research on the cars, and they seem to be the first two of a commissioned two hundred by VW. The project was canceled, however, and only these two were ever built. Further research showed that, when they were offered for sale in the USA, they were 50 state legal for road use. Therefore, it would be eligible for this year's Cannonball.
