  1. This is a Revell/Monogram 55 Ford I've build few years ago. I made front and rear rolled pans and converted the kit interior to tuck'n roll using Plastruct styrene sheet. Steering wheel is from Monogram 58 T-bird and gear stick is a pin. Taillights are from AMT 49 Mercury. Engine is from Monogram 58 T-bird. Blower, carbs and aircleaners are from my parts box. I painted those with Alclad chrome. Wheels and tires are from AMT Black Force snapper. Paint is Revell of Germany Car Metallic enamel.

  8. Hi! I've been here for a while but I think it's time tell you something about me. So I'm from Finland and my name is Tuomas Seppälä. It's like Thomas Smith in english. I was born in the good old 60's. I begun model car building in 70's with Airfix 1/32 kits and Monogram kits. Actually Monogram "Cop Out" was my first 1/24 kit. I have one unbuild waiting for a nostalgic moment ; ) I like to build hot rods and kustoms but also 50's- 60's european cars in lightly tuned way. The guys from Air-Trax are my friends and that's why I have quite a many their kits in my achive waiting for buildup. I think this forum is really great place so keep up goin' Gregg!

  17. This was a very looong project. I started it when I was in high school in mid-80-ties and I finished it two years ago. It takes time when you try to have things right I've had read Hot Rod magazines and I knew something about Barris bros and the others when I started. I started with Monogram 1953 Bel Air. I converted it to a convertible with Carson top and panoramic windshield. The body was also sectioned 3 scale inches. I actually found my old drawings which I've made before I even started. It was cool back then to write everything in english Lets begin with the front. Lights are from 59 Chevy and bumber is made from AMT 51 Chevy kustom parts. The middle bar is from AMT 50 Ford kit. In the rear the bumber is also made from AMT 51 Chevy kustom parts. All chrome is painted with Alclad2. rear lights are 59 Caddy. The Carson top is made from AMT 50 Ford convertible top. It's chopped and made longer. I painted it with Vallejo acrylics. Body colour is Revell (Germany) metallic pearl red. Here's a comparo with stock AMT 51 Chevy convertible.
  18. My friend has a Ford Anglia. About a year ago he had his 50th anniversary so I decided to built a model of his very own car. I started with Air-Trax resin kit. Because my friend has a Anglia standard, I shaved all chrome trim from sidepanels and created a new grill from Evergreen plastic. I painted the body with airbrush and used Humbrol enamel paint which I polished and waxed. Interior is also painted with Humbrol colours. Wheels and tires I painted with Tamiya spray colours. Hubcaps and bumpers I painted with Alclad2. Anglia ready for road! My modelling buddy helped with register plates, national sign (SF=Suomi-Finland) and a decal for front emblem. My friend has on his Anglia's rear window a sticker which says "A brand new Ford Anglia 1964". So I made a sign with same words (in Finnish).
  19. Thanks for the info and Bill thanks for the pics.
