Holy BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH! Now I don’t feel as bad! Lollll -
I have so many cars that are under construction and I always get ideas for others in my head before completing the others. Right now I have the buick stocker that still needs decals to be completed, the Vega Wagon that needs it’s blown small block assembled. The Monroe Handler Mustang still needs frame work and the 1960 Corvette is still in the box as a new kit. The new projects that I have painted this past weekend are : (1)The 1966 AMT PROSTREET NOVA, which I started building its 4 point cage out of raw styrene rod which will have a single turbo Hemi with a powerflide transmission, It has been painted green. (2) I will be building (2) Corvette Gasser’s, one a 63- 64 Grand Sport Gasser and a 1969 Corvette gasser both are blue . (3) The final one is a 1969 MPC Country Charger which will be transformed into the Dirty Mary Crazy Larry green slotted mag R/T Charger! I know this is a crappy kit, but I want to take the challenge to make it a really nice build . Now that it’s getting colder outside, I will have time to build and finish what I have going on !

Hey guys! I’ve been away from the table just enjoying the summer sunshine outside and making model car purchases online and at swap meets. I came across a built model car called “The Monroe Handler “ Mustang that was built, missing parts and extremely dusty. I know that this kit was rare as the Monroe Handler and was released under other platforms by Revell. I haven’t seen any other kits like this one built before so I thought I would give it a try. I dismantled the car as best as I could and began to mock up my ideas for this car. I ordered Eleanor wheel and tires from Jays resins and a twin turbo coyote engine from iceman collections. I have cut out the rear floor pan so the car will sit lower for starters. I’m kinda short on time because of home renovations but will try to get some bench time day to day . Tell me what you think about this concept! enjoy your day!

I live in the Philadelphia suburbs and I would love to show off my model car building skills by entering some model car contests. The problem is that the model car contests are hours away from my home. Why isn’t there any contests in Philadelphia?

Thanks Mark for the information! I have the Motown Missile movie off You Tube and it shows that the real car was tubbed or mini tubbed, couldn’t tell. I am a big fan of the barracuda pro stocks from the early 70s , this being my favorite. I am going to try my hardest to make an exact replica of the car, kit and parts permitting.

ARE THESE 2 KITS THE SAME?

What I am going to do is make the pro street Barracuda into the Motown Missile! I have to sand off the ugly bumper guards, fabricate the six point roll cage. I have the era correct 426 Hemi with the tunnel ram with twin dominators. I also acquired the Motown Missile correct decal sheet from Slixx decals and the Fenton slot mags bigs and littles with tires . -
I have great news about the 1960 Corvette “Sebring Special “! I have just received my new kit and I've decided to go with the MPC 7in1 1960 Corvette kit then the AMT Because the MPC kit has more customizing parts for the look I need to achieve my goals with this car. I think it will look a lot better than the AMT kit! I will keep everyone posted!

The wheel wells were cut off at the top on each side, then I sanded them to the desired height and covered them over with sheet stock. On the older car kits like this one, you are not going to see the tops of the wheel wells anyway because the body covers over them. I sanded my wheel wells to also lower the body . As for the oil pan the stock kit oil worked just fine without modifications.

Hello guys. I’m sorry to say that this thread has come too an end because this model car has been destroyed. To many things have broken on this car while I was trying too assemble it. I guess all the paint stripping weakened the styrene on the body causing it to become brittle or something. I WILL purchase another one to pursue my vision of this model car. Thank you.

The Corvette is coming together slowly but surely. I had a lot of problems with this kit which I created myself with the paint. I must’ve stripped this car 3 times before I got it right . Then I was looking at some early corvette concepts and road racers and decided to raid my junk pile for the parts to put me in the right direction I wanted and go! The car still has a ways to go but I’ve been determined to finish this one because of all the trouble it has given me ! No matter how bad it gets, be patient and it will work itself out! Here’s what Ive done so far! Thanks
