  1. I thought this kit was cool for a snap together kit but I had to change it by tubbing it and drag slicks and a roll bar in it this was the first model car I built when I returned to modeling! I even stabbed myself in the had requiring stitches! Loll The only thing I don’t like about this car is the Hemi engine which I will change with either a blower or injection stacks .
  2. Thanks man! I’ve been messing around with this one since I started back modeling last year. This one is special to me so I have been collecting the right parts for it, and that takes a long time. I am in no hurry with this one, it’s gotta be perfect! I think I'm going to build the blown small block this weekend! I’ll be posting progress with my other builds! Thanks for checking out the Vega!
  3. Thanks, the body is from the kit and the chassis is from the pro street 66 Nova which I had to cut a section out to fit the wheel base of the body. I have a long way to go! Loll thanks for your input!
  4. This one I had years ago and didn’t like the way it turned out. Being a young kid with no patience and a bad temper, it was thrown against the wall and destroyed. Now some 30 years later, I was at my local hobby shop and saw another one and bought it again vowing to make it better than the model shown on the box it came in.I don’t know when it’s gonna be done because I’ve been working on it for a year and I DO have a lot of other model car projects going on that I have to complete. I don’t know if anyone else came up with this, but again, it’s my way! Lolll
  5. I’ve used this technique several times and it always comes out cool looking! I usually attach the coil for the motor to it or a dry sump tank.
  6. Thanks again! THE LAST AMERICAN HERO is in my top 3 NASCAR movies! It is number 2 behind the DALE EARNHARDT movie and #3 GREASED LIGHTNING! Of course DAYS OF THUNDER is fourth. I am from the Philadelphia area and as a kid, my dad took me to LANGHORNE SPEEDWAY, TRENTON SPEEDWAY ( which had a crazy right turn on the back straight! ) My favorite driver back then was RITCHIE EVANS and a young GEOFF BODINE! My inspiration for this build was that red and white HOLLY FARMS 65 CHEVELLE that Junior Johnson drove back then ! My asphalt stocker is about 65% done and when it is, I hope it’s a show stopper! Loll
  7. DoI let it dry and polish it out and what kind of polish OR let it dry again and clean it with a can of Testors clear? HELP!?
  8. Thank you! The Hurst Olds theme turned out really nice! Thanks for the input!
  9. Really nice color, is that a kind of candy tangerine ?
  10. Cool! I think that frame with some sectioning could fit under the MPC Chevy Chevette, AMT Pinto or maybe an MPC Foxbody Mustang. The giant wheel tubs in the back would be good for hatchback model car kit! I build to be different! Hmmm Big block twin turbo Chevette?
  11. Thank you! This kit wasn’t the greatest in quality, so I decided to use the pro street AMT GTX chassis which had all the suspension parts with it. I got lucky and it fit wheelbase perfect. However, I used the interior tub from the kit and had to cut the trans tunnel out of it so that it would fit the GTX chassis. I’m gonna do a lot more detail work on this one. Thanks for the input!
  12. To make wheel wells, sometimes I use old prescription pill bottles! Cut off the ends and cut into however wide you want them !
  13. Thanks! I was shocked that I got it right the very first time! Lolll Just the way I was hoping it would turn out!
  14. Thanks , there was a lot of cool parts in this kit! I wanted a blown Hurst Olds convertible and this is the result! Thanks for your input!
  15. Thank you! It’s an Olds Cutlass, so I just thought, blown Hurst Olds and this is what I came up with! Thanks for your input !
  16. Thank you! Was thinking about a blown Hurst Olds and this is what I came up with! Thank for your input!
  17. Thank you ! I chose the black and gold because they were the Hurst Olds colors. I thought a full red interior would go well with the black and gold. The blown small block chevy with gold accents speak for itself! I really happy with the outcome! Thanks for your input!
  18. Thank you! I wanted it to have the Hurst Olds look ! Thanks for the like!
