Wow that looks awesome! Love the color and decals! At the tops of the wheel wells, I cut them down till it slammed the nascar tires down into the body wheel openings. I wanted it sitting as low as possible. Your stocker looks like a true late model asphalt stocker of the late 60s ! My cars sponsor will be Miller high life American # 8 driven by Bobby Hillin which is a newer style buick.

Thanks! I had to extend the nascar frame right in front of the firewall almost a 1/4 inch on both sides with square plastic rod which I had to sand a lot to make it look like it was unchanged. I also removed some of the cage bars to make it era appear era correct. Also you will notice from the pictures that the rear wheel wells were cut down on the top some that the body would be at the correct stance that I wanted. About your engine and transmission position problem, when cutting to fit a frame to a body , always try cut the engine mounts off and move them back if it has them or use some small plastic rod too fabricate the motor mounts and trans mount. The engines in the old stockers always sat back in the engine bay to save them from front end impacts! Hope this helps you out a bit , thanks for your input!

Thank you, I love this year GTO! This kit needed a roots style blown Hemi sticking out of the engine bay! Thank you for liking it! Gonna make some little changes before it’s completely finished! -

Thanks! I got the Dobberton frame from LBR model car parts on eBay. It came with everything except the body and engine! Rocky is the name of the gentleman who runs this model car parts company and he helped me out with this one! I think it turned out better than I expected! Thank you for liking it ! -

Any car model I see for 12 bucks, I’m buying it !! Loll I had make it as cool as possible ! I saw on You Tube a gentleman had a black Gremlin Outlaw Drag car which was cool looking, plus there’s an orange one that is a wheelie car of some sort! I thank you for your input! -

Thank you! Not knocking other peoples Gremlin builds which I think are ALL nice because people put the time into building it, but from what I’ve seen there’s a sunlight gap over the rear wheels! I saw it right off the bat! I wish AMT at least filled the rear wheel wells in a little better! That was one of the reasons I just used the body and hood from this kit. I’m glad you liked my rendition of this kit, it will be done soon. -
OVERCOMING THE TERRIBLE MPC 1967 GTO KIT!

Thanks, Jays resin wheels are the best! That front bumper is killing me with having to trim and sand both parts! Same with the rear bumper too! Once I get them worked out , radiator hoses radiator more detail with the wheels and tires and a fitted hood with a hole for the blower, wires too for the Hemi ! I’m glad you like it so far! -
This kit was a Hobby Lobby purchase that turned out to be a terrible kit to build. I had heard from several other modelers about the flash and part fitting problems which I have encountered also. I had an extra pro street chassis from the AMT pro street GTX, a set of Jays Resin V series drag wheels and an Iceman Collections Roots blown Hemi which I am using in this build! I also made the funny car style cage by hand. This is also another work in progress. Thanks for viewing.

I purchased a 1975 AMT Gremlin for 12 dollars at Ollies and regretted it when I opened it! Loll I had an old Dobberton J-2000 chassis and sectioned it to fit the Gremlins body wheelbase. This is what I came up with! This build is still in progress. Thanks for viewing! -
Wanted to do a Hurst theme with this kit. Parts bashed the wheels and tires and blown small block Chevy. Turned out pretty nice. Thanks for viewing.

I always thought the AMT modified Stocker series kit had tires that were too big! Loll The 1966 Buick Skylark stocker had really nice body lines and would look awesome as an asphalt car. I used an AMT Nascar chassis and lengthened it to fit the Skylark body's wheelbase. I have a Bobby Hillin #8 Miller American decal sheet to finish this build ! Thanks for viewing!
